Here is an old truism you might come to appreciate:
Men marry women for who they are. Women marry men for who they can be.
Most men just want to be happy for the rest of their lives with the girl they fell in love with.
Women, on the other hand, are schemers. No matter who or what you are (males), they have a plan to “improve” you. Promotions, attitude, social slights and movement up the social ladder...
Well. Can anyone see the pointy objects (including fingernails if nothing else) being prepared?
You remind me of my past.
My first wife always wanted to have these serious talks with me. To get me to do x, y and z. I suppose I was a disappointment to her as I didn’t become the man she wanted. All I wanted her to do was make dinner, clean up the house and have enough energy and desire for sex. The things she did at first, sigh.
Looking back, it was like two ships passing in the night.
After she gave me the “I’m not in love with you speech” I went abroad and found a nice Christian woman from a poor country. She doesn’t try to mold me into her idea of what a man should be. She doesn’t try to lead either. Men have allowed western women to become so obnoxious. If men would stop drooling over hot girls maybe things would change. But that doesn’t seem likely in this culture. Not giving a flip would radically change some women’s attitude. Happy wife happy life, I think not.
Lesson I learned is it’s better to tell your wife she should use the door and leave instead of trying to change you. She probably won’t and you can stop being harassed in your own marriage. If she does leave, meh, you aren’t gonna change who are anyways. If you wanted to, you would. You just sped the divorce process along.
