So far Trump has been somewhat of a disappointment. However it should be noted that he is very early into his Presidency and has yet not mastered the levers he needs to pull. He needs a pit bull as Speaker but sadly has a timid poodle. He made a huge error giving his daughter and son in law an important role. Still it is far better that he is President and not the vile Clinton. Despite everything if the economy does well and people sense real prosperity, and he appoints solid conservatives to the judiciary, he will succeed and be reelected. He should not feel threatened by criticism from his base. He ought to demonstrate his disdain toward Democrats and their MSM lackeys.

Great post. I agree with your assessment. Except for the “disappointment” part. I definitely want more than we have yet, but what keeps me from feeling disappointment is the constant progress. Not always at the speed I’d like, but definitely in the right direction.

IMO, and I really hope that I’m correct about this, some of the things that Trump is tackling require a lot of groundwork to be laid and this takes time. Example: Nominate Sessions for AG, get him approved, fire Comey. Pretty sure those steps needed to occur in that order. Also pretty sure they are leading up to additional actions. Getting Gorsuch on the SC was also an important step toward many future accomplishments.

I agree with your criticisms, but I am still hopeful that they are temporary, or part of a larger plan.

“He” doesn’t have control over who is Speaker or Majority Leader.

The best negotiator in the world can’t do much with a Dem senate (McTurd, Grahamnesty and Collins give us a minority, not to mention Burr and Tillerson & Murkowski.

Therefore, this is not “drain the swamp”-—it is that game of pulling one stick out of the pile at a time without collapsing everything.
