Traditionally, the woman got to decide if and when a man got sex and the man got to decide if and when a woman got commitment. Entire civilizations were built on that interplay and over time came up with solutions that resulted in happy, fruitful families (because the ones that didn't were unable to raise enough successful children to survive in this tough world.) We decided about 2 generations ago to throw all those successful strategies out the window and devalue the man's negotiating position by bringing the govt into the deal.

New strategies are being negotiated now between men and women. Remains to be seen if anything successful comes out of them.

Most women choose not to get married until they’ve played the field well into their 30s and female fertility drops quite a bit. What’s the point of marrying a used up ho who can’t even have kids? Men want young near virgin wives, not ex-hookers who didn’t even get paid for their services.

Technology is the great ‘equalizer’. Just as colt made all men equal. Technology is getting rid of ‘men’ jobs left and right. Robots, AI, automation, etc will further separate the educated and less educated. Technology has allowed women to move into the workforce with greater ease. It all appears to be a vicious circle. Women are taught that they can have it all but the problem is that one part of your life will inevitably intrude on another. The expectation of this rosy picture of being a top professional with a dreamy husband, stable home life with multiple kids that won’t turn to drugs due to lack of attention all done with ease is pure fantasy.

Another thing is that women used to be on the side of a man and the family. Yet women have become more self-centered and that is also true of men as well. They don’t become one, both master and both servant.
