My boys don’t.
A super bright one at that age might (looked it up in the encyclopedia, etc.)
Very true. I didn't read the article to see if the boy had a father at home. These articles usally don't say. They don't think it's important. But it is. Having a father at home is more impotrant than all the money in the world.
And perhaps this poor boy did have a strong father living at home. But in the majority of cases, bullies, and those who are bullied come from broken disfunctional homes.
Yes, that’s true. It does say he was a “model student,” which of course is why he was abused in school. Wanting to be left alone to do your work isn’t tolerated.
I wondered the same thing. Where does an 8 year old learn to hang himself. God help us.
Here is the coroner in the case, ask her!!

I think what they will experience is more akin to bathing in molten lava.
Poor kid.
When I was in third grade, I and a couple of cronies got in trouble for tying nooses during class time. I think we were supposed to be doing arithmetic ...
A nightmare for him and his parents.
[ The article describes him as a model student, so his classmates probably beat him for acting white. Poor kid. ]
The boy was Black, if the kids who assaulted him were white CNN would be talking about it right now till a year from now.
The kids were no doubt either black or some other protected minority class.
Kid was probably beaten up because he was a good student and they beat him for “acting white”.
Congratulations black community your collective I.Q. just dropped a few points.
This is what you get when you start killing off high I.Q. members in your own cultural group.
You’d be expelled for “racism” now. On the other hand, being expelled might be the best thing.
[ How does an 8-year-old have the knot-tying skills to hang himself successfully? ]
either naturally smart or a boy scout, unlike the thug kids that beat him probably.
I could have done it at that age. I was tying trot lines off by then and had been trying my shoes for quite a while by that time. Article says “model student.” Probably smarter than the average kid in his age group
Faith is something that's lived out in the process of an individual having a relationship with their Creator.
It's not a work product rendered through the mindless regurgitation of the fallible and uninspired thoughts of those who've assumed dominion over the faith of others - in the process of rendering the "TYRANNY OVER THE MIND OF MAN" that Jefferson and Co. got so HOSTILE about.
Just heart breaking
Don’t underestimate the skills, intelligence or resolve of little tykes. Or their susceptibility.
My son at about age 3 climbed up a ladder to see what I was doing on the top of the roof.
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
They have to look first to find it.
If they don't want to find anything, they just don't bother looking.
School officials who turn a blind eye deserve to be beaten in the same way.
