Four names are already in play and all four are too political and partisan, IMHO, to get past the demonic-rats:
Trey Gowdy
Sheriff David Clarke
Rudy Guiliani
Chris Christie
It doesn’t matter who Trump nominates, the liberal democrats are going to fight it...
Gosh, it sure is a shame that Harry Reid unilaterally changed the rules so that the Republicans don't need any Democrats to confirm. McConnell just needs to keep 3 or more RINOs from defecting.
General Jack Keane.
I like your list, except Clarke doesn’t have anywhere near the necessary kind of experience to be successful in this position, even though I love the guy to pieces.
The others have all been big-time Federal prosecutors along with substantial other law enforcement backgrounds prior to those appointments. Rudy and Chris of course also have big-time bureaucratic administrative experience.
People here hate Chris Christie, but as FBI director I think he’d be hell on wheels, as would Trey Gowdy. Rudy would be good too, but Rudy is 72, and I would think a younger man would have more energy and more need to make his mark.
