This is it. Body-positive marketing finally has gone too far.
Dove, the friendly soap company known for preaching self-love and diversity through advertisements featuring real women instead of models, recently unveiled a new line of limited edition body washes in a variety of body-shaped bottles.
That's right, precious little snowflakes, you can now have a body wash bottle that reflects the shape of your body.
According to Dove's website, the limited edition body washes aim to celebrate beauty diversity.
"From curvaceous to slender, tall to petite, and whatever your skin colour, shoe size or hair type, beauty comes in a million different shapes and sizes," the site reads. "Our six exclusive bottle designs represent this diversity: just like women, we wanted to show that our iconic bottle can come in all shapes and sizes, too."
But critics weren't buying the female empowerment shtick this time.
"@Dove Is this real? I don't care what the bottle looks like, I care if the product inside works," said one Twitter user.
"I don't want fat representation in soap bottle form. I'd prefer it in the form of fat people not being systematically treated poorly," said another.
I don't understand Dove for your body type? Do you...wear the bottle?

I found the bottle shape that correlates most closely with my body. Thanks @Dove! pic.twitter.com/ghVyGmF0zY

Probably to hide the fact that you are getting less product. They often change the bottle shape to hide that while keeping price about the same.
Fire the marketing consultant.
I use whatever my wife is willing to scrub my back with...and then make me a sammich.
Excuse me, I was the model for the 3rd one from the left.
If a store has one row for each bottle that will cut into space for other products. If the store doesn’t carry all body shapes, they can prepare for discrimination suits.
What store is going to give them enough shelf space to display seven different bottles?
“I found another brand of shampoo”
They still sell ‘normal’ head and shoulders. Blame your store for not stocking it.
In the end, Dove just ended up creating a major public-relations fiasco. You either will push off the shelves competing products just to accommodate all these different-shaped bottles or Dove might end up not selling the product because the big retailers like Walmart and Target might reject the idea.
That makes for really inefficient use of space in the shipping carton.
Stupid idea.
How about bottles with removable organs so the owner can “transition” without having to buy a new bottle?
Today I feel like a women, so Dick, you gotta go.
I don’t buy Dove at all. It’s on two ban lists - LGBT supporter and #BLM supporter.
We can assume the there is less soap in the bottles but the price is higher due to special shapes causing extra packing space to transport.
“They still sell normal head and shoulders. Blame your store for not stocking it.”
They sold only the two options when I left the brand. I assume they brought back a “normal” option when they saw their sales evaporate.
And, you are an arrogant ass.
Whoever is in charge of dove’s marketing should be fired. Last month they were calling a man, a mom in some ads.

Hahaha.. there’s a reply from the OfficialChurchofKek under that pic.
I wonder who the Baby Got Back bottle is targeted at.
Walk this way...
I use bar soap so there’s no stupid plastic body bottle.
“And, you are an arrogant ass.”
Oh... Good to know. Apparently it is a low bar.
