FULL TITLE: I'm not a monster': Killer tells the woman who saw him rape and murder her mother 22 years ago 'I'm sorry' in sickening plea for forgiveness as he is put to death in America's first double execution in 17 years
Arkansas executed two death row inmates on Monday night in Americas first double execution in 17 years.
The first inmate to be put to death was Jack H. Jones, Jr, 52, who received a lethal injection after delivering a two-minute final statement - during which he told his victim's daughter 'I'm sorry' 22 years after she watched him rape her mother and strangle her to death with the cord of a coffee machine.
'I hope over time you can learn who I really am and I am not a monster,' Jones said to Phillips' daughter, Lacy, who he brutally beat nearly to death when she was an 11-year-old child during the attack.
Hours later, Marcel Williams, 46, was executed for the 1994 rape and killing of 22-year-old Stacy Errickson, whom he kidnapped from a gas station in central Arkansas.

Monsters never think of themselves as monsters.
After all, they had “reasons” for whatever it is they were doing.
Actually it was about 8000 volts, in Florida, at least.
OK.
If he were a monster we probably have no law to execute him.
And this isn’t an electric chair so don’t worry.
Supposedly, the day Ted Bundy was executed in Starke, FL the local McDonald’s was offering free fries if HE fries.
I don’t understand how you wouldn’t be so nervous that you’d even be able to eat.
I agree. I don’t even like going to ‘business lunches’ for the same reason. The cynic in me keeps thinking; “Why are we really here? What is it you want to tell me that I need to be subdued by a full stomach while in a fully public restaurant?”
Monsters rape and kill mothers in front of 11 year olds then decide twenty two years later that the victims needs to learn more about them.
For starters, a monster would lack the basic decency to show contrition immediately on committing the crime and, after getting caught would continually lie in the face of overwhelming evidence while dragging the appeal process up and down the chain of the system for decades...oh, wait!
Buddhists are non-theists. He might well wish he were in a cockroach body, but when we die, there are only 2 options. That roach didn’t choose the Resurrection and the Life.
Makes sense to me!
Good point
The victims didn’t get a last meal
Having had chronic digestive problems since early childhood, now better than 4 decades, I certainly know what a nervous stomach is all about. If I ain’t calm, ain’t nothing getting in my mouth or down my throat. :-(
He certainly was a monster 22 years ago. The decisions on whether he is still a monster or not is in better hands than ours. I would not bet much on him winning, but I’m still glad both that it’s not my job to decide and that he was (finally) sent to hear that decision.
Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.
What’s even more tragic than the crimes that he committed (and they are horrendous), is that this guy had all that time to “get right with God”, through Jesus Christ and he threw it away in the garbage. He’s no in the abyss awaiting the Great White Throne Judgement and he’ll have zero opportunities for parole or escape.
He’s “NOW” in the abyss...
Exactly what I was thinking. Tragic. But Jesus said narrow is the gate to heaven and wide is the path to hell. Unfortunately, most people in this world choose the latter.
