I don’t think so.
The competition, is currently between a Tesla, vs a Dodge.
Only one of those is a real old-time fast car.
The Tesla is brand new.
Yet the Dodge is still winning. (even if just barely)
Once one discovers cars can turn left and right, driving is more enjoyable.
I guess the big difference is the Tesla can make one or two full throttle runs, and then needs to find an electrical plug.
The wars are back. If you look at the NHRA they have classes with new Mustangs, Camaros, & Challengers. I believe they would be in the S/S class. They run somewhere in the 8 second range. You can see them on youtube if you are interested.
