The simple fact that they were caught making out in a classroom a week or two before they fled goes a long way toward answering that question.

He’s in deep doo-doo. A fifty year old man who will most
likely spend the rest of his life behind bars. (Not my
call. I’m not the judge who’ll sentence him -
possibly - as a resident of Maury County, might be on
the jury.) Relax, though, EVERYONE is innocent before the
law, unless proven guilty.
