Just remember that old saying: So goes the Prince William County clerk of court, so goes the nation.

Remember in the campaign when every other day the media came up with a This-Is-The-Beginning-Of-The-End-For-Trump story?
I guess they’re just trying to relive the good old days.

Why was a “powerful... popular Republican House majority whip” running for dog-catcher?

Just another indication of how Northern VA has been invaded by the FedGov Employee Zombies.

I hear Perez is putting that on DNC tee shirts.
Looks like a huge demand for the shirts in Hollywood....to wear while yachting (smirk).

Grasping at straws...
Yep. It is what the NPR “analyst” was doing yesterday afternoon. They still try to “sound” non-bias, but their bias is oozing out of almost every word they broadcast.

I think here for the local dog catcher election Democrat John Doe defeated John Smith by 100%...John Smith died 12 minutes before the polls open...
The Dems would say that would be the end of Trump...as usual, fake news...

Democrat Jackie Smith beat Del. Jackson H. Miller, the popular Republican House majority whip with far more campaign cash, by eight points to become the Prince William County clerk of court.
Wow ... what a major victory for the Dems. Amazing. LOL!!!!!

Laughable joke this all is.

Ok, this time it MUST be the end of Trump. The last 4295 times were merely leading up to this.

Clerk of Court should not even be a political position at all. Do demos vs. pubs file documents differently? They don’t even generate the documents, just keep em organized.

Prince William, not Prince Georges. Prince Georges? Would be hard-pressed to even run a Republican there, let alone have him be within 30 points. But I am not surprised the Democrat won. If this was county wide, and the Democrats put money into the race, the heavily "diverse" eastern and southern areas of the county can swamp the more Republican north and west.
This is meaningless, and probably has more to do with the dysfunctional nature of the Republican party in northern Virginia, than any kind of national trend.

Only 10% turnout for an election to an office that most people don’t care about is the real reason.
Like here, the Tax Collector’s office is an elected official. People don’t really care who he/she is or what party they are in, everybody hates them anyways.....................

So far, in special elections at the level of state legislature or higher, I have Republicans +1 (a state rep in Louisiana). All other races have, so far, been holds. Did I miss the Washington Post version of Fake News saying the Louisiana special election was a trend proving that Trump is good, and are now we’re in a new trend the other way based on one election at the county level? Or, do only elections that “prove” that Trump is bad count?
