It’s no big deal to me that it isn’t religious. And these might just be for the Easter Egg roll. I looked at your link. I hope they have the numbers figured out.

One tweet showed a picture of a couple of gals (in the WH kitchen??) - “Boiling eggs - all 4500 of them!”

Another tweet said “WH expecting 21,000 people for egg roll.”

I guess that is about two parents for every kid - but I’m hoping they are cooking more eggs somewhere else.

Wish our amazing new first family were celebrating Easter/Passover at the White House instead of Mar-a-Lago.

I would love to see all his grandchildren hunting eggs on the lawn and it would be an awesome opportunity to experience the holidays at the White House.

Why miss the chance to enjoy their first holiday in the peoples’ house???

My daughter told me years ago that someone should start a tv network with nothing but good news. No wonder people are so depressed. I do not watch any tv news. I learned back in the early 1960’s that they all have their own agendas. That is one reason I like FB. So many of my friends are animal lovers and they post amazing videos. One that I enjoyed was a small dog trapped in heavy snow. Her friend, a bigger dog, saw her problem, walked down to her, clearing a path. The bigger dog then walked out making the snow even lower. How did the dog know what to do? Another one posted a video of 4 deer in their back yard. Another one posted one of turkeys in their yard. Just amazing pictures. Why does bad news have to get so much attention? I do not understand. God bless.

The Easter Egg has a long history. It stretches back to early Christianity when the early Christians of Mesopotamia celebrated the cracking of the egg as symbol of the opening of the tomb of Jesus and a symbol of the resurrection. The eating of eggs were prohibited during Lent and were stored up to be eaten on Resurrection Day, the day we call Easter. They were hard boiled to prevent spoilage. In the Orthodox and Eastern Catholic Churches these hard boiled eggs were dyed red to symbolize the sacrificial blood of Christ.

The Easter Rabbit originated from the German Lutherans who created a mythical rabbit that would judge the children for their conduct at the start of the season of Eastertide. The Easter Rabbit was the equivalent of Santa Clause who would bring gifts and candy and, of course, Easter Eggs.
