BOSTON (WHDH) - After six days of deliberations, the jury in the double-murder trial of Aaron Hernandez found him not guilty for the 2012 murders of two men in Bostons South End.
The former New England Patriots tight end was on trial for the killings of Safiro Furtado and Daniel de Abreu after one of them accidentally spilled a drink on him at the Cure Lounge.
Throughout the trial, his lawyers argued that it was Hernandezs friend, Alexander Bradley, who shot the men in a drug deal while parked at a stop light.

No, he’s already serving a life sentence. This was for additional murders, separate crime.
Most likely the “beyond a reasonable doubt” standard could not be met here, since the case depended heavily upon testimony of his depraved criminal partner who could have been the triggerman himself.
No doubt at all that Hernandez is a murderous scumbag, but in this case it was possible to dispute whether he actually pulled the trigger.
correction - a later murder.
BOSTON (AP) Ex-NFL star Aaron Hernandez, already serving life sentence for 2013 murder, is acquitted in 2012 double slaying.
The defense blamed his buddy and the jury bought it
After the verdict, Hernandez was quoted saying:
“Yo brah, I be right back with my team soon as I finish this life sentence.”
That's what friends are for!
Now he doesn’t have to worry about this trial anymore and live his life free and clear....................oh wait.
Rot in prison. He had it all and threw it away.
