Seems like a boring news day,What's Your Favorite One-hit Wonder Song?
I’m stumped. What was that song that cast kids as Aztecs and conquistadors? What group?
So frustrating....
His new gig is domestic violence in Camden, Maine.
AM Radio – Everclear
Hold on, I’m Comin’ (is that a double entendre?) is the same song as Soul Man, to me anyway.
They did a parody of Rockers.
It was pretty Funny.
Some good Riffs.
"Gramma Got Run Over By A Reindeer" - performed by 1)Elmo and Patsy Trigg Shropshire and 2) Oink. That would mean 2 different groups each had a 1-hot-wonder with the same song, which creates a whole new category. (But not a whole new thread.)
Did a search...
‘Alice Bowie “ was Cheech and Chong’s
‘Band’ name and “Ear ache My Eye!”
was the Song.
HILARIOUS!
later
I'll bet you weren't expecting to get 500+ responses to this thread.
I think many a man marched to this one and sang it in boot camp and I think they only had one hit. “Kiss him Good Bye” by Steam.
“Sinatra had 22 top 100 songs (including another #1) and Debby Boone had 7. Are you unsure of the concept of one-hit wonders?”
==
Someone else offered them up as one hit wonders, not me. In fact, I cited the somewhat obscure “Some Velvet Warning” Hazelwood/Sinatra as one example of Nancy’s other hits.
You need to learn to check to see who is responding to whom about what when you’re going through comments in order to better follow the plot.
I remember one that came out in the 70’s and people thought it was Jerry Lewis {actor} singing in his comic character voice but it wasn’t. “Oh Babe what would you say” by Hurricane Smith.
You are entirely mistaken. I wasn’t arguing. There was nothing to argue about. A-Ha had exactly one hit in the US. One, and only one. That means they were a One Hit Wonder by any metric you care to use. For documentation, see the link I provided in the post you responded to.
I’d be amazed you could have imagined I was arguing...except for one thing. My Philosophy Prof used to tell us, ‘The average person wouldn’t recognize an argument if it knocked him down in the hallway.’ Sadly, he was right.
Good point. I’m usually reading too fast.
No problem, happens to me all too often, too!
Two more one hit wonders that I really like, and which haven’t been mentioned so far:
Chris Norman and Suzi Quatro:
Stumblin’ In
Blind Melon: No Rain
I heard that he put a beat-down on the wife....sad.
