No filibuster by the ‘Rats?
You have it backwards. ACA threatened fines, but couldn’t enforce them. The new “Republican” ACA was going to severely punish those opting out. They did what Obama only wished he could.
Ted Poe exhibited cowardice. He heard the sound of the guns and ran for the hills.
Say it ain’t so, Poe!
Because they knew it would never be signed and therefore, the disaster that their “repeal” bill would have caused would never happen. This was the first time that the rubber actually hit the road.
There will be no conservatove agenda with the Republican part, without lots of pressure. They want to outprogressive the Democrats. Obama would have cheered if the ACA expansion had gone through. It had things he only wished he could have gotten passed.
Now conservativetreehouse is claiming that the freedom caucus is #NeverTrump? The depths of shiite they’ll plumb knows no bounds.
PRyno is the Lead NeverTrumper of the GOPee.
>> If Ryans bill had succeeded everyone who supported it would now be credited with saving 0bamaCare. And improving it. <<
You’re insane. If Ryan’s bill had passed, when Obamacare goes up in flames, Republicans would take blame for eveyrthing bad that happened, while the Democrats would still get credit for giving everyone free healthcare until the Republicans ruined it all for everyone. The media hates Republicans, and that’ll never change.
Trump could try for a bill by going to the Democrats. Democrats know O-care will bow up in their faces at some point and are saying “fixes” are needed.
Any bill gotten this way will of course be worse than Ryan’s.
The Senate, being more liberal than the House, will probably pass it, especially since it will be bi-partisan.
Nightmare scenario, let’s hope it doesn’t happen.
Trump is determined to do something.
Has the Freedom Caucus said what it wants? Are they working on anything?
You just said the same thing I did and called me insane for saying it. LOL
You and I haven’t always been on the same side on details of this mess, but we are both focused on achieving the best outcome and I respect your input.
Isn’t it strange how the actual outcome seems subjugated to political appearances, infighting and identity politics? I’m talking about on this board and in congress.
I thought Trump had ordered the IRS to stand down on penalty enforcement.
Let Obamacare crash without Republican fingerprints on it? Then pick up the pieces?
Good for him, I thank him. There are NeverTrump zealots in the “Freedom” Caucus who will are also NeverYes to anything and will not work within the Party to get something done. I blame the Democrats who are all Alt-Left and these NeverTrump zealots and Ted Cruz 2020 for totally deballing the momentum we were seeing and I pray Trump can get the tax cuts moving but the 20 idiots in the FC (F Caucus) not only have caused a huge blow to the effort they likely will also undermine the tax cut effort.
My retirement is literally on the line, I may have to contunue to work another two years because of the 20 idiots (F Caucus) and am very worried what will happen Monday if the markets decide it is the Do NOTHING Republicans once again just because some dumb suckers can’t handle havung lost to Trump in the Primaries and stil think Ted Cruz is the second coming of Jesus Christ and think Rand Paul is the apple that didn’t fall far from daddy Ron Paul’s tree and we should stock up on dehydrated food and gold coins. I am not interested in RandPAC and Rand’s vainty nor his 2020 bid, I am interested in furthering and accelerating the Trump Rally so I can look at my 401k and say I will have good markets in the first two years of retirement because math is math and if you have caving markets in the first two years of retirement the impact will be bad, very, very bad.
Thank God President Trump agreed to Ryan’s call to pull the bill, it was the best thing under the circumstances and I pray the markets listen to Trump’s call to move onto the tax cuts now because if we miss the August target on that the DOW will tank a minimum of 1,500 points and with that Democrat operative Yellen raising rates to try and sabotage Trump I guess I will have to kiss my retirement goodbye just because Ted’s daddy thinks the “miracle” of President Cruz is still foretold hallelujah as the DOW crashes on top of a few million very angry Americans when they look at their 401k and IRAs and retirement investments.
Damn, I hope Monday won’t be a blue one, but it might be a black and blue one and screw you F Caucus.
I haven’t said very much about this so I’m not sure what you may have disagreed with, or perhaps you’re confusing me with another ‘Tiger,’ that happens frequently. Be that as it may...
I am far from giving up on Pres. Trump and assuming that in 66 days he has been transformed by D.C. into ‘just another politician’ so all this tea leaf reading going on hasn’t impressed me.
A terrible bill was sacked, a man who can’t possibly be characterized as loyal has been seriously damaged and through it all Pres. Trump has been gracious to everyone. He has kept his cards close to his vest and now that this deal has gone sour he has announced that he will direct his energies towards another project. Sounds like the businessman he used to be.
Anyone who thinks he is finished with this project has totally lost sight of who he was and is. It’s merely on a back burner. Those who soured the deal can now stew on it for a while and contemplate what they did. There may be new faces at the table when re-negotiations come around but Pres. Trump will still be at the head of the table.
That’s my view of it in a nutshell.
Excellent, 29 to go so we have a Republican majority in the House.
“Let Obamacare crash without Republican fingerprints on it? Then pick up the pieces?”
Sounds great for them and lousy for Americans. Why put people through the crisis? Teach us a lesson? The majority never wanted it in the first place.
