"Sib Hashian -- the drummer for the rock group Boston -- died after collapsing onstage Wednesday night ... TMZ has learned. Sib's son, Adam, tells us the drummer was on the Legends of Rock Cruise and was midset when he suddenly collapsed. A witness says CPR was performed and a defibrillator was used but to no avail. The L.O.R. Cruise began on March 18 in Florida and had stops in several places including Puerto Rico and the Bahamas. We're told the cruise will continue and other musicians are performing tributes to Sib on the boat Thursday. The drummer -- who donned an EPIC afro in the early days of his stellar career -- was famously part of Boston's self-titled album, which featured the mega-hit "More Than a Feeling." Sib's daughter, Lauren, has a daughter with Dwayne Johnson. He was 67. #RIP"
“Peter Gabriel with Genesis.”
Yeah, forgot about him.
The blaming of Scholz was unfair. Scholz let it ride until it became too intrusive. The suicide was over personal issues Brad was dealing with. Some ugly behavior that got exposed. He was also a lifetime depressive....
RIP.
Is this the cruise that they’ve been advertising for almost a year? I remember commenting about they shouldn’t wait so long as some of the group’s members might not live until now.

Mine, too. We’ve lost another link in the chain :( RIP Sib

Roughly 22% of men die by 67 in the USA
I like the town
Not the Band much
That is significantly less than I thought. I know health care is extending mens life spans, but I thought a third of men died by 65. Thanks for the update.
I’m waiting for that one to appear.. when it’s Mick’s turn.
I looked it up
20% by 65 so I guesstimated
As I stated before. I’ll read more about it.
I didn’t mean to offend. I was just going by stories that I had read.
I took no offence.
Gotta preface this story by saying, my parents were pretty lenient with us growing up. With 4 boys you just try to keep a lid on things I guess. Anyway.
Friday evening I was over at a friends house hanging out with a bunch of guys. Someone says “Hey, Boston is in B’ham tonight at the Civic Center! Anyone want to go?” I’m good but I gotta call Dad and make sure. I’m 15 at the time.
Me: Hey Dad. Would it be O.K if I went to Boston tonight?
Dad: Well, ummmm I guess. When are you planning on coming back?
Me: Probably around 12.
Dad: You’re going to Boston and you’ll be back at 12 tonight?
Me: Well probably. Sometime around then.
Dad: How the hell are you going to go to Boston and be back at 12?
Me: Riding with Donnie?
Anyway. You get the idea.
RIP Sib
I respect Tom Scholz's technical abilities, especially in a home recording studio in the mid-'70s - but these guys gave Boston its sound.
Sometimes I think that Tom's incessant multi-track recording and other tinkering interfered with the band's development. These guys clearly had the chops to be a world-class "live" act.
