Footage of some of the most imaginative (and functional) farming machines from around the world...these folks have some very powerful and fun machines to play with. I've never seen many of these machines before.

Which only puts a lie to those in the agricultural sector who say that they can only get illegals to harvest the field. Obviously they can also develop machines to do the job as well.

European agriculture is already more automated than in the US, especially for those areas (like fruit/vegetable harvesting) where we use a lot of immigrant labor.
The next major generation of technology (robotics) will especially take a bite out of those kinds of tasks. Machines can be equipped with longer arms, more sensitive “hands”, and specialized sensors for better recognizing ripeness and disease. The decade of the 2020’s should see a significant drop in farm labor requirements.
I once saw a picture, a long distance shot, of an extraordinary do-it-all farm machine from the early 20th Century. Steam powered, this giant took a crew from between 20 to 30 men to operate. I think it exclusively operated in the Indiana region.
The idea was that it would take unimproved land, with boulders, tree stumps, shallow topsoil over limestone, etc., and “brute force” it into quality, fertile land.
But that is all I know about it. I have never seen another picture, and only saw that picture once, along with the description from someone whose grandfather or great uncle worked on the machine.
The thought crossed my mind that with modern technology, propelled by a nuclear engine, a monster like that could create dozens of square miles of high grade farmland from scratch, even today.
People have built equipment like the Krupp excavator, so such an idea is not impossible. 45,500 tons. 95 meters high. 215 meters long.

Modern harvesting techniques require rock hared fruits and veggies that I hate.

A good friend was called out of retirement to sell machinces similar to these to dealers from Washington to Oregon and down the California big valley.
They are betting on the lack of laborers from south of the border.
Also, they are setting records in selling more small tractors to home owners with large lots or a few acres.
Can’t believe I watched 33 minutes of this.
