roner wants to warn Apple that their plug may be potentially lethal? Any idiot knows not to use electricity in water. Good grief.

No, he had the "charger element" on his chest. . . not the iPhone. Per the coroner:

"We found an iPhone plugged into the extension cable and then the charger element in the bath," he explained, “The extension cable was on the floor and it appeared as though he had his phone charger on his chest and the part between the phone charger and the cable had made contact with the water.”

Standard Apple UK iPhone USB Charger and Lightning Cable

As you can see, no cord.

Either way ... electricity and water don’t mix. I still don’t understand why the coroner is seemingly blaming Apple and not user error.

I see a cord. It's at the bottom of the picture. The "Lightning Cable" (and never was a monicker truer, I suppose). Unless a 'cable' is not a 'cord' - ludicrous.

Obviously, there is no way an iPhone can be connected directly to the charger shown in the top two images. That has a female port. As does the phone. (Only in San Francisco are the two be matched to each other in a working relationship ;-).) The cable is needed as the go-between.

That said, I now find the coroner's statement self-contradictory. If the charger was found on his chest, so must have been the extension cable (contrary to the coroner's quoted statement), because the charger directly plugs into the latter, as it always does for all such devices. Arghh!

I guess the guy was just really, really, *unbelievably* stupid. Because the 5V/1A DC output of the charger itself (at the phone-end-plug of the cord/cable) would've hardly killed him, had the extension cord been left outside the bath.
