This Nor'easter, named Stella, is coming on like a son of a gun! My sidewalks are already indistinguishable in height from the lawn on either side. I spent a lot of Monday preparing to be snowed in: moved up medical appointments to Monday morning, topped up the gas in my car, corrected deficiencies in food staples supplies (shelves were already conspicuously bare in many aisles), laid in a good supply of crickets for my lizards, studied weather reports, and checked on friends.
How have you in the Northeast prepared for Stella? If you stay home, how are you going to pass the time during the blizzard?
Total snow covered roads,Not happy.
Don’t believe the predicted accumulation totals. The National Weather Service has been hacked, and you know by whom....
Up here in the Catskills we have the wood stove going and it’s quite nice in here.
Its coming down, that’s for sure.
I have plenty of work ahead of me.
Over here in Michigan we call what you are experiencing”weather”. Break out the wine and the booze. Sounds like it’s going to be a doozy! :-)
We haven’t lost power, so we’re good. I’ll shovel later, and then the family can have a walk in the snow.
Yep .... jes’ gonn’a settle in n’ make a baby.
SW Pa ... almost 5 AM ... not even a dusting.
1” of snow here in North Central CT. 23” to go.
Started with snow here in Northern VA, but last hour or so has been sleet.
I live in Riverhead NY Eastern Long Island, it is TOTALLY crapping out here. BARELY 1/4” snow on the ground and now it is lightly drizzling rain, and now they are saying rain at 9am after about an hour of snow which still hasn’t come. I was just outside and it’s above freezing. So basically what we got after all the sensationalism by the media is rain with slight sleet and they were shoving “Oh major blizzard! 2 feet of snow” on us. LOL!
Did your area schools close?
Finger Lakes reporting an inch of snow so far. I’ll be going to work. No pro Trump rallies planned for today.
67° and sunny today. I think this is the first winter without ANY snow in recent memory.
I’m going to keep shoveling food to the hamsters, so they make electricity ...
The pretty, and ginormous cloud you see on TV is a satellite image ..... taken from way far away and showing what it can see .... a couple of miles up.
Which doesn't necessarily translate correctly to what's happening on the ground.
Just a falling sky
