Friday, March 10, 2017, 5:55 - Parts of the Northeast are primed for significant snow threats through midweek next week as Canadian Arctic air spills south.
A clipper system is forecast to descend form the Canadian Prairies this weekend bringing light snow to the Upper Midwest.
As the low interacts with the sub-tropical moisture in the Southeast, it will begin to significantly intensify Monday and Tuesday.
Early models indicate areas north of Virginia could see the highest snowfall accumulations Monday through Wednesday, while areas farther south will see mostly rain.
The threat of heavy snow greatly increases for Pennsylvania, New York, New England, or areas north of Virginia, says Weather Network meteorologist Tyler Hamilton. Early models show that some areas could see snow of up to a foot or more. This is something were going to have to watch over the next few days.

I think about it every time I look into a flushing toilet.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
LMAO! Peering into a flushing toilet is (ahem) a rather unusual pastime. Do you do it often?
My poor mother in law is in Bufffalo area. She’s been homebound for 3 weeks now... stupid weather!
She may very well be home bound, but its not because of the weather. Really, you’re worse the the “news” media.
Weather underground for Syracuse has 8-12 Tues and 1-3 Wed.

This storm should not get as far as Buffalo but the cold certainly will.
It’s not St Patty’s day yet.
Er.... make it Mother’s Day.
LOL
You’re ten degrees warmer than northern VT right now. Wind chill today is -26.
At the moment we’re in liquor store territory. I’m making a list and checking it twice.
Sound like where I live. North Hills of Pittsburgh. We live on a golf course and it was packed Wednesday & Thursday last week but by Friday had several inches of the white stuff on it.
See this?
Yep. I am right in the middle of it (SIGH)
Ugh! That is not what I wanted to hear. We’ve been spoiled lately, and I was hoping to be in full golf-mode my the end of March.
*winter wonderland*
It gets old pretty fast.
Especially when you have to dig out of a couple feet of all that global warming.
It’s one of those reduced water usage or “green” models and sometimes it needs to have bucket of water poured into the bowl as a chaser but it’s a small price to pay for helping to save the planet. /s
One of my sins and his college buddies are going on a 5 day camping trip in central Virginia for spring break. He’s an experienced snow camper but I think a few of the guys are total novices.
I told him to track the storm and be ready to bug out early. He’s already on top of it.
I love snow camping and am pretty jealous.
