Greeting gardening fans. Another nice day here in Missouri. Weather temp is changing and on the way down-will be freezing or below next 5 days.

Fruit trees are blossoming, so they will likely suffer. Really nice daffodils have been blooming all week. Hyacinths are blooming.

We have been puttering around and doing a little clean up. We have had some really big winds and rain this past week. Starting to look at lean to green houses, and researching ways to heat the green houses.

Wood is preferred, since we have plenty of trees, but I'm not sure how that would work, so will be researching that once we decide which greenhouse to get.

Hope you are all doing great. Have a good weekend. Prayers up for all. God Bless.

Started tomatoes, peppers, herbs and some flowers a week ago. The babies are 1/4 to 1/2 inch tall. No “first” leaves yet.

This week was lovely, but it snowed again today, and all thoughts of Springtime just got buried!

Brrrrrrrrrr.

I would heat water with the wood and get a hot water pump to pump the water through copper lines in the greenhouse.

I had a small hothouse in Colorado. I used homemade solar hot water collectors to pump through and into a 100 gallon barrel in the basement. Then the hot water would pump through pipes in a raised insulated floor and an old steam unit in the greenhouse. Two hot water pumps and sensors to start and stop the pumps depending on temperature differences.

Thats a redneck solution to a fancy outside furnace they sell.

Greetings from southern New Hampshire. It was showing such promise, but this evening, there is about a 1/4” of fresh snow on the ground. Worse than that, they are talking about 5-8” next Monday or Tuesday! Enough, already!

I started tomatoes, ground cherries, and herbs last week, and have been restraining myself with difficulty from yelling GROW DAMMIT every time I walk past them.

“Two, four, six, eight, shake a leg and germinate!”

Started seeds indoors Wednesday and Thursday. Friday it snowed. Got more pots to start seeds. More snow next week. Tulips are coming up.

Won’t be surprised if a hurricane, tornado or even a tsunami hits us. LOL

That’s a real good start-especially compared to mine.

Thanks. I’m going to print out the suggestion to see if Hubby can follow the advice.

No gardening yet, but we’re cleaning up the house yard before we get more SNOW this weekend.

Beau has been cutting down trees and I’ve been hauling brush with the 4x and trailer from the House on the Hill...down to the Pasture and back.

And as an Added Bonus, I got to stack a LOT of logs.

Mommy NEEDS her Martini, tonight, LOL!

Last winter, we started seeds Feb. 10. All the seeds survived transplanting.
We had garden ready plants in early April, 2-3 weeks before they could be moved outdoors.
