People for the Easy Termination of Animals???
Liberalism is a mental disease.
They believe that the anomals are better off dead than “enslaved” by humans as pets.
I fully get that in some cases, euthanasia of unadoptable pets is the only feasible option. However, I could never work at such a place. Too much misery. I already think of dogs and cats and horses as having individual characters and a full sense of awareness. This is very different than working with an aquarium full of Feeder Fish. All we can do is effect future births by spaying or neutering our pets early in their lives.
Libtard hypocrites. The poor pets that should have been placed in loving homes, betrayed by these pieces of garbage.
will they be charged with animal cruelty?
The rescue I founded ten years ago has kept our county nearly no kill on a small budget and hard work of dedicated volunteers. PETA takes in millions and euthanizes most animals they take in almost immediately. They are hypocrites need to be put out of business.
In case anyone hasn’t figured this out, yet:
PETA is the animal version of Planned Parenthood.
People for Eating Tasty Animals
This seems like an excellent time for some education! If you want to stop world hunger, you have to be open minded about the solutions!
“It is widely accepted that 9.6 million animals are euthanized annually in the United States.” (American Humane)
There are 9.6 million animals euthinized in the U.S., but what happens to their bodies? Most are disposed by group cremation, but the option of how they are disposed is left to the owner. The animals are going to be put to death anyways, so why waste usable meat when there are people starving?
Dog breeds can range from tiny chihuahuas to the huge Neapolitan Mastiff size of 150-200 lbs. There does not seem to be an percent for edible meat obtained off of dogs ands cats, so we will use an estimate. Deers give 40-45% meat, Pigs and cows 50-60%, Turkeys 40%, Rabbits 40-50%, fish avg. 40%, etc. It seems it would be a pretty safe estimate to place dogs and cats at just 30%. That means a single Neapolitan Mastiff could render 45-60 lbs of meat, or 60-80 12oz cans. A more popular breed, the Labrador Retriever, weighs 55-80+ lbs and would be equivalent to 22-32 12oz cans. Cats weigh in at 6-15 lbs, which means 2-5 lbs of edible meat per cat.
Lets just say that on average we harvested 4lbs per animal (or Five 12oz cans). This would mean in one year, from the U.S. alone, we would have 38.4 million lbs of meat (or 51.2 mil 12oz cans). The recommended consumption of meat per day is 5.5 oz of meat a day or 125 lbs a year (Americans average 6.5oz a day). So, with just American animals harvested, we could feed 307,000 starving people a year.
That will not solve the problem of starvation, but isn’t it better than letting 300,000 people starve?
