CIA treasonous traitors?

Posted on 03/08/2017 6:58:11 AM PST by MNDude

I was just listening to conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt ( don't blame me, the radio was just set on that station because I was listening to Glenn Beck and Michael Medved on that station yesterday), and he was furious regarding the recent information regarding the CIA information released by WikiLeaks.

He was saying that whoever in the CIA that leak that information to WikiLeaks is as big of a traitor to our country as the Rosenbergs's are. Your thoughts?

I will blame you. If you were listening to Michael “Barack is Great” Medved or Glen “I am Great “ Beck, you deserve all the blame. Hewitt sucks, and Levin as well.

Government agencies, from the smallest to the largest, take on a life of their own over time. All become something that must be dealt with and an agency like the CIA/NSA/FBI/DHS become ultimate government beasts causing many more problems than they solve.

The CIA/NSA/DHS/... responsibilities are better left to our military and states, who's power is somewhat curtailed by a periodic change of duty station, and in the case of states, closer to the people.

The above, out-of-control agencies, are far worse than standing armies our founders attempted to protect us from in the Constitution.

I know many will disagree, but IMO, the Federal government should be limited to providing a Federal Marshal service and FBI back to providing "investigative" services as was its original intent.

I am prepared and ready for the whole enchilada to be laid bare for all to see. Let the chips fall where they may. We will recover. Progressivism will not recover.

When the Patriot Act and rubber-stamping FISA courts were set up to create loopholes big enough to fly a plane through.

if you like politics you must listen to Hewitt. Understand he's straight GOP, but he talks to lots of peeps in the game. One can learn a lot. One can always disagree.

He's always supported the candidate, even if he had a few disagreements with DjT. He's commended him strongly on several issues. Not so much with Beck or Medved, whom I've not heard in months.

There are actually only 16 intelligence agencies, with the Office of Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), being their head and overseer. James Clapper's old job.

But you are correct. There really only needs to be a domestic intelligence agency (FBI) and a foreign intelligence agency (CIA).

The other 16 agencies can integrated into one or the other of these two primary agencies. Streamline the process of gathering intelligence and eliminate the cross-purposes and turf wars between each of these existing agencies.

There could still be an ODNI to head up and oversee the two separate agencies, who then reports directly to the President as a cabinet member.

As for Wikileaks....they’ve not ever been proven wrong, so I believe his revelations have—in the end—been good. Our freedoms are being usurped.

I thought the CIA’s charter, or whatever, was external. No domestic spying.

I listened to Hewitt for years, even recorded his show for later listening. He lost me around 2007 when he showed his loyalty to establishment and party positions, not to conservatives. He is just a tool. It did not surprise me that he was a never trumper. I don’t like to listen to people who have an agenda antagonistic to mine. YMMV.

“HA! They will make a deal for their own survival. There is no love of country in them”

You are correct, but you don’t expect them to come out and say that do you?

What exactly did our enemies like Russia and China learn from these Wiki leak dumps they didn’t already know? Nasa is my guess.

What did the American people learn/realize from these Wiki leaks revelations on how our goVT spooks spy on us “we the people” ?

OK I can turn my smart-spy TV back on now.

There was a report in Conservative circles in early 1964, of a secret war in the CIA--I believe in the late 1950s--as to whether to carry out campaigns against right-wing strong men (anti-Communists) in Latin America, or to defeat those campaigns. The context of the report had to do with the question of whether Lyndon Johnson had a role in the Kennedy assassination. But the point of my mentioning this, goes to the question of whether that split in our CIA has ever been fully healed.

I do not pretend to have an answer, but have always assumed from that report forward, that there was a strong possibility of a similar division, as different factions, in and out of Government, grappled with foreign policy questions; especially as so often our State Department appeared to be embracing policy that seemed actually opposed to American interests.

I admit that I have no personal knowledge of the answer.

Good point. Also, who do you fear causes a greater threat to the average American, the Russian or Chinese government or the American deep state?

He was never a Never-Trumper....not even close....too much of party guy. I believe he had a couple of other preferreds , but so did I. It was always, "I will support the nominee."

I'd like to strangle him sometimes, but overall he's on our side. Much more than Kristal or Levin were.

I think Presidential Decision Directive PDD-62 (May 22, 1998) helped get CIA foot more in the door stateside including some of the basis for “Fusion Centers” and JTTF:
