Mom wants teacher fired for using Ouija board with kindergarten students
WISN - ABC Milwaukee ^ | 2/28/2017 | Christina Palladino

MILWAUKEE — An outraged mother is calling on Milwaukee Public Schools officials to fire a kindergarten teacher who introduced the young students in her class to a Ouija board.

The mom, who asked to not be publicly named, said the game was used on Friday in her 5-year-old's classroom at Zablocki Elementary.

"They were shutting off the lights and making it dark and talking to spirits. That's not something that should be at school," the mother said of the game, which is said to be able to channel spirits.

In an email to the mother, the teacher said the Ouija board had been in the classroom since Halloween.

"The kids have been asking for a scary story and I got the board and moved the paper clip to answer some of their questions. They asked about scary characters in movies. I did not say there were spirits. It was all done in fun. I understand your concern. It was silly and I'm sorry. I will take the board home and this won't happen again," the teacher said.

The family said the children are too young to be exposed to the concepts of Ouija boards, and they believe the teacher should just stick to curriculum.

The 5-year-old is now having nightmares, the mother said.

"He's scared now to go to bed at night, to be in the dark, anything alone," she said.

MPS officials have not responded to a request for comment.

Agree!!! I would be so furious, livid, and downright irate if my kid’s teacher did this!

Down through the years, I have heard from several friends, and some relatives, about having tried a Ouija board. Some tired it when they were kids, and some when they were teens and adults. Every one of them related something frightening/unnerving/horrifying that happened during the experience, and that they’d never gone hear a Oiuja board again.

And to think that teaching religion in classrooms has been abolished! Only Christianity has been taken away.

Fired is not too extreme. This a hole teacher exhibited exteerlt pot judgement. If your kid was shown a scary movie and usffer d from nightmares afterwards, wouldnyou not feel the teacher, meant to protect & nurture children, inflicted harm?

And while I agree with your position on homos, my feelings against it are for the same reason: it evil and puts my kid in spiritual danger.

Some folks do confer a lot of power to a square piece of cardboard and a cheap plastic triangle. Power of suggestion is strong or there wouldn’t be any hypnotists, but using a game board you can buy in the kid games toy section seems a bit of a stretch for dialing up the devils minions. The feds would have quashed this toy ages ago if it had the powers some seem to attribute to it.

I used one many years ago. I got incredibly correct predictions. Fortunately, I was protected by my angel. I would never get near one again.

I don’t know what you’re LOL’ing about. I don’t find this funny one bit.

I pray that God, in His Mercy, will protect the souls of these innocents who have been put in harm’s way by their idiot teacher.

Any young kid would end up having nightmares if the child had a mother or aunt such as the complaining mother in the article or some of the commentators above. An ouija board is just a silly spooky toy and if you think it’s a gateway to spirits, you need to get real or medicated.

I bet if a Muslim parent had complained, any involvement of the school with Ouija boards would instantly cease.

But of course a Muslim parent won't complain.

One of the kids in the group is in on it. He/she would move the thing around to spell out the scary answer.

Years ago when my daughter was young, she went over to a friend’s house. She did not stay long and never said why. A few years ago, she said the house felt evil and she found out later that the older sisters had been playing with one. Do not mess with them. I am thankful she had sense enough to leave.

It is all a bunch of bogus nonsense. You aren’t contacting spirits or demons. You’re playing with a board and block of wood. If touching something made in a Milton Bradley factory in China is going to invite demons in to your life we are all doomed.

Simple proof. Blindfold everyone and see what happens.

It reminds me of the anti Dungeons and Dragons movememt. One story gets so blown out or proportion entire movememts are created with no basis in fact.

“Silent Spring” anyone.

There they were, sitting in the darkened room, summoning the presence of demons fromthe spirit world... when the classroom door opened and in walked the transitioning LGBT principal in his heels and skirt...

This teacher is ignorant, and just does not understand.
Before I became a Christian, I thought a Ouija board was 'harmless fun'. I never used it (I bought one, but never used it) - but I never considered the danger it presented. I also thought the Bible was mythology, and although containing some 'good thoughts' - was obviously a 'dead letter' book that had been written by men thousands of years ago, and obviously had been corrupted in the multiple rewrites and translations.
I suspect over half of America today has similar thoughts about Oujia boards, Halloween, and the Bible.

Knowing better - there is a Spirit world, and the only Spirit we want in our lives is the indwelling of the Holy Spirt through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ - we do not want to dabble around communicating with Satan's demons. This is flirting with disaster. Yes, Believers are safe In Christ - as James 4:7 tells us 'we submit ourselves to God and when we resist the devil he will flee from us' - but we never communicate with an evil being that hates mankind to its fiber and is always working to promote misery amongst Adam's race.

Someone needs to have a talk with this teacher. She is a product of our present times and does not understand. The first step - believe the Bible is the Word of God and that He has kept it and preserved it. Read it, Believe it, Live it, Love it.

UNACCEPTABLE!

Fire the entire school ADMINISTRATION! IF they don’t know
what is going on their classrooms, ..... they don’t need to be anywhere near a school.

Not the best video, but way back in the early 2000s Penn & Teller did a show called Bullshit on Showtime. One of the episodes covered the Ouija Board.

“This teacher just opened these children to demonic possession.”

What? These kids don’t have a television at home to do that for them?
