It could simply mean that God favors us among Creation because we are able to ‘feel after Him’, and love Him.
It doesn’t necessarily mean that God doesn’t love and provide for His other creatures, too.
Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Matthew 6:26
Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. Matthew 10:29
But, while God knows and has concern for the birds, it doesn’t say he takes them to heaven. Unlike humans who are immortal and either go to heaven or hell, animals just die.
