A brief glance makes me think that the storylines in "Lion" might be a little like "Slumdog Millionaire" and "La La Land" a little like "Notebook". Wondering if either or both are worth seeing.
Whaddyathink?
Check out Screen Junkies’ ‘Honest Trailer’ for the 2017 Oscar nominees on YouTube.
Stop paying for tickets at first run movies. You are feeding the Liberal Hollywood beast and contributing to the demise of our country.
I didn’t watch, how many Oscar nominations did the chickified reboot of Ghostbusters nab?
Kidding aside, I have seen La La Land. It is a nice musical and so makes for a nice afternoon or evening. I will leave it at that. Know nothing about Lion.
Did you see Hacksaw Ridge?
My dad saw “Lion” and said it was really good.
I saw LaLa Land and while it was perfectly OK, I think anyone would be far better off re-watching “An American In Paris” or “Singing In The Rain.”
Wife and I saw Lion, its pretty good but a bit slow at times(kinda like life, at least its accurate, not every moment is a cliff hanging adventure) ., at least its not a preachy diatribe from a left wing whiny POS, so , there is that going for it.
I would but I swore that I absolutely will not support those idiots.
So, if you can take the graphic violence, then the movie is well worth you time.
Emma Stone ( LaLa Land) video bad mouthed Trump....
Lion looked interesting
Hacksaw’s lead, Andrew Garfield likes going around and mouth kissing men
Ewww
Limits my options
Hey, those weirdos in Hollywood hate Mel Gibson, so supporting his efforts is actually sticking it to the Hollywood Elites.
I’ll tell you what I think. Those movies are sitting on my shelf because we are members of SAG. They will remain on the shelf, unopened.
I really can’t compare Lion to Slumlord dog or whatever it was because I only saw Lion.
I liked Lion. It was an interesting story. The beginning was excellent....the middle is slow....the end was worth it all........I say watch it...why not...it’s only 2 hours and it is overall decent.
Well, La La Land just won the Oscar for Best Picture....oh, wait a minute....nevermind!
To sit in a theater with a bunch of drooling morons and watch a Hollywierd movie?
Pay me a $100 and provide free popcorn and beverage.
on that note, I watched about 10 secs of the awards show last night, just long enough to see OJ documentary get its award, which was surprising as there were more than enough “blacks are victims” films to win . the director did his duty though, and spouted off that his film was “dedicated to victims of police brutality”., umm ok, your movie is about a black guy who murdered 2 white people, ..., that was all I could take.
I refuse to watch anything from Hollywood.
La La Land is a mid-level attempt at Gene Kelly/Fred Astair/Ginger Rogers movies. OK if you are not a classic musical fan.
Lion, OK if you like that kind of stuff, same with Moonlight. Hacksaw Ridge if you never saw the old WWII docs and movies, good.
Don’t most of us have an Amazon Stick and watch first run movies on Kodi? I watch movies all the time that way. I haven’t paid for a movie in years. The thing about Kodi is you may want to wait a few weeks after the movie comes out to watch for the quality to improve. But if you don’t care about that, you literally can watch a new movie on Monday after release date.
