A Welsh Muslim teacher filmed the moment he was made to feel like a 'criminal' when he was hauled off a US-bound flight in front of his students.
Juhel Miah, 25, was due to fly to New York from Reykjavik with students from Llangatwg Comprehensive in Aberdulais, Neath Port Talbot, South Wales, when a US official escorted him off the plane in an 'unjustified act of discrimination'.
The maths teacher - who has a British passport and a valid visa for travel - was not given a reason, but was forced to stay in a 'horrendous' hotel until school officials could book him another flight home. He told the camera: 'Just been off the plane, not going to New York. Everyone else is on the plane.
'I can't believe this is happening. Honestly I feel like a criminal.'
The incident unfolded when Mr Miah was refused permission by the US authorities after being selected for a 'random security check.'

"Why does he need a visa? I am British born and travelled to Florida without one (ESTA, visa waiver). To my knowledge the only British people who need a visa are those who have been arrested and/or convicted of crimes."

I’m guessing that they did a background check and found something. They are even checking social media activity these days. They knew he was a muslim when he was allowed to board the plane.
I agree with both you and the commenters. Something is being left out of the story to make the teacher into a sympathetic figure. It sounded fishy and not worth mentioning when I first read it a couple of days ago. I only posted it so the admins wouldn’t think the original poster (the one who got his thread pulled) was just posting fake news.

Trump gave border agents the authority to block anybody at their discretion. They are doing doing extreme vetting, etc.

What you said just gave me an idea. Whenever it can be demonstrated that a "reporter" has deliberately left out relevant details in an effort to mold opinion, there should be a fine levied for attempting to manipulate the public.
One of the biggest problems the nation currently faces is Biased "journalists" attempting to manipulate the public to push an agenda. We need to develop some methodology for fighting this problem.

I don’t have access to facebook or any other social media so I can’t check. I wonder if he has some history of jihadist tweets or facebook posts. Just going by two different names might be enough to deny entry in conjunction with a few violent posts. Especially when you choose to call yourself Mohamed but your birth name is something else.
