Russian airline Aeroflot has sparked outrage among its flight crew after banning as many as 400 'old, fat and ugly' stewardesses from prestigious foreign routes.
A group of angry cabin staff has written to Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin to complain about their alleged treatment, supposedly part of a 'rebranding' exercise by the country's national carrier.
Calling themselves STS - the Russian abbreviation for 'old, fat, ugly' - they say they are being prevented from flying on international routes, and instead given unfashionable domestic flights.
One attendant Yevgenia Magurina complained: 'They told us all that only the young and thin will fly abroad for Aeroflot.'

I suppose it’s no surprise the commies have a (mostly) state-run airline. Which is now micro-managing stewardess issues. Gotta love Big Government!
As I understand, Singapore Airlines still has a policy that after 30 years old, air hostesses are expected to be married, or they go into back-office work.
STS—Starii, Tolstii, Sklochnii.
A woman we knew in Minnesota working for Northwest had her name ID typed as “O. Miss.”
They can get jobs at Delta.
I’m calling the divorce lawyer now. If that’s considered ugly/fat, I’ll pick you up on the way to the airport.
THAT’S THE PROBLEM. IT DOESN’T!!
Kind of the opposite for Disneyland Indiana Jones ride where all the women cast members for years are all fat??? For years it seems that if you are a fat cast member you end up on the Indiana Jones ride as a cast member.
The airlines are like everything else.
Look at gas stations 50 years ago. Total service, windows cleaned, oil and tires check, and from people who spoke English.
Gimme a bucks worth or regular!

What’s “winning!” in Russian?
“Oh, for the old days when stewardesses wore hotpants and miniskirts and were gorgeous.”
—
Uh,uh. In the old days they wore trim uniforms with skirts, high heels, were nurses, and were gorgeous.
.
It’s quite odd, no?
But let’s not mistake nationalism (which can be very good if not taken to extremes, like Germany) and capitalism with democracy.
Or maybe I’m wrong and the presidential elections in Russia are fair.
What do I know, I still can’t figure out the ####ing remote, no less the Echo Dot i got for Christmas
As pretty as that girl is.....I STILL wouldn’t set foot on an Aeroflot plan for all the tea in Vladivostok.
Russian women are the hottest in the world but you gotta pluck 'em out of the motherland while they're still young if there's any hope of saving them..
It's a hard life and before long, Nataliya the hottie stewardess is a hunchbacked babushka with a headscarf and a mouth full of silver teeth.
Evening wear!
LOL
My favorite were the PSA flights. Took them often between SF and LA. They had hotpants. This was early 1970s.
someday, it would be so refreshing to have men rated hired and fired based solely on their looks, their trim bodies, their good hair, or their sex appeal..
just to know how it feels to be rated on your shallowness rather than your brains, work ethic, efficiency, stamina, and responsible nature...
just to feel as much as object as a lot of women do...
