Amen to that. Heros all.
Yeah, I guess that’s the Latin plural!
Yes. I often think of how different my life might have been. To live with that.
Well, I am grateful.
Yes look at the pics of them while our usual asshole brigade here are having their usual fun high diving with their snotty snark
I bet these tough talkers ain’t never busted one grape
They live such safe lives never making a mistake or taking risk
This is without question my least favorite characteristic of this forum of which I’ve been a member of going on 18 years
Little empathy ..total perfection
And it’s the boys....women know better
It’s awful it’s hardly effing funny
Thank you
Just look at the jackasses on this forum
I’m ashamed for them to be so bent they find tragedy funny
That kid looks like any other private schooled southern kid
A horrible accident....so what if someone drank..someone could be going to work to or falling asleep etc
I drive six figures miles each year
I see a lot of sad things
I’m first on scene of a fatality at least once every 24-36 months
I purposely carry blankets and towels and rope in my FJ
I always stop to help and in fact run to help unless it’s too late and explodes
Seen that too...first time my oldest boy saw death up close at around 14
He was like dad do something....the car was like a marshmallow on the coat hanger too long....immolated
A bonafide Outlaws MC nomad patch had run over by then and told my boy if your daddy runs into that fire it’ll be the end of him too
The driver was strapped in upside down
Awful
Maybe he was drinking too...let’s all yuck it up....too funny right..
Or the truck driver I helped pull out impaled on his steering wheel gasping his last just four months ago between Chattanooga and Dalton after his rig jackknifed on ice ...boy now that was hilarious too come to think of it...right
Hell Im still busting a gut
It’s funny right?
Or one of them could have simply fallen asleep.
Can one fall asleep and unbuckle their seat belt at the same time?
At 4:00 in the morning?
Seen my share of violent auto accidents and some deaths as well. We all cope differently and I confess I laugh at some of those now and again probably as a coping mechanism.
Who can say for sure what was going trough the minds of the father and the son but you can bet this wasn’t the outcome they were expecting. People do stupid things and some people are unfortunately in accidents, whether preventable or not. The stupid things are easy pickings for joking and laughter.
I bet if people go down to any police station they would be shocked at the humor by the officers. They used to call that gallows humor. Laughter does help.
Why do you assume that they unbuckled their seat belts as opposed to not using them at all? Plenty of people drive without using them.
The fact that this was 4 am makes falling asleep at the wheel more likely, not less.
The fact that both drivers were not using seat belts indicate that they both made impaired decisions.
Were they impaired by alcohol or lack of sleep?
Either way - they paid for their bad choices with their lives.
So sorry that you & your son had to witness that fiery accident. That must have been horrific, especially for him at age 14.
Thanks for your post. Since I know the victims’ family, the article & the mocking comments were hard to read.
Here’s what happened: The Son had left work around midnight and, unfortunately, had a few drinks before heading home.
The Father was on his way to work & the son was on the wrong side of the road when they collided. The accident happened before daylight & that road isn’t the safest at the best of times.
The Grandfather isn’t in the best of health & I’m afraid that this will finish him off.
The family isn’t wealthy but they have done a lot for the community. No one deserves to go through such a tragedy.
Please pray for the family. Thanks.
Prays sent
Just awful
Bullshit
I lived a lot in very violent environments surpassed only by serious combat vets
You laugh about killing your enemies or something stupid like the horse fell on the randy woman or his mobile meth lab finally blew up
You don’t laugh about your dead buddies and cops sure as shit wouldn’t laugh about this
Look downthread a post from someone who knew this family
Is it funny
Like ha ha
Freepers sit behind their keyboard like snarky snowflakes all safe spouting tough guy crap earned from playing video games
It could indicate a family habit of not using seat belts. I know teetotalers who have done this and it mystifies me why they do it since their cars have them.
I don’t like to be on the road in the wee hours because it doesn’t matter how alert you are. That just means you will be wide awake when you realize that those are indeed headlights coming at you on the freeway, courtesy of a wrong way driver who is completely wasted.
So I guess my roommate who in now a retired police officer and my brother who was a police officer and all the time I spent with them and other officers was just done for my benefit.
I was talking about combat soldiers nor about people joking about them or police officers involved in police shootings! I was talking about stupid people doing stupid things and people finding humor in that. I didn’t joke about these two folks in the article either.
And if you don’t like what I said then tough shit.
I didn’t mean to be so harsh to you personally
I apologize
This isssue is a pet peeve of mine
I do suggest reading crimsontidegirls follow up post
I’ve driven a lot of miles over the years and come upon many accidents, some fatal. It would never occur to me to make light of anyone killed in a car accident let alone a father and son. That’s somebody’s loved one and these stupid jokes on this thread will get read by them, you know it’ll be pointed out.
To anyone doing so: stop and think. These are real people, people make mistakes, people die, even people you know and love, even you. What would you think and feel, reading this crap if it had been one of your loved ones?
I take back my apology
You prove my point for me
Cops
I’m not real impressed by them personally as a rule but I appreciate what they do more often than not
My experiences are not second or third hand
But you have fun tough guy riding with cops and all
Do they let you turn on the siren ....
You’re a dick
You’re eloquence matches your empathy
Well done
I like how I’m the one scorning those who think tragedy for a family is humorous or something to make fun of and I’m the dick
Tight orbit of self reflection eh
