Maybe Kyrie Irving would have benefited from a few more years of that pricey Duke education.
The Cavaliers point guard, who has established himself as one of the premier players in the NBA, caused a stir by saying he believes the earth is flat, not round, while participating on the podcast Road Tripping with RJ and Channing.
This is not even a conspiracy theory, Kyrie said. The earth is flat.

Fog over Appalachia? Are you kidding me? I can't even see Appalachia from here, let alone, New York City.
I'm beginning to think telescopes are a hoax.

I’ve already cut the tape.
I’m devoting the rest of the day to searching for Stray Sods and Pwcas, in the back yard.

Stare at that lone enough and you’d believe that Obama was a Natural Born Patriot.

Look - I know the Earth is a sphere because I’ve seen it myself from outer space.
It was during my third abduction.
Just after the physical exam and right before the sex encounter with the Nordic Alien female, one of the Grays (they act as workers for the Nordics and also as soldiers against the Reptilians from Draco) let me look out of the viewport.
They have big viewscreens like the ones on Star Trek that can magnify and enhance, but there are also several plain viewports on each of their ships. There is no refractive glass or anything in the port. It’s just an open spot in the hull that is sealed by a force field.
It’s a little disconcerting at first, as your natural instinct is to draw away from the open port. But once you get used to it the view is great.
And from there I saw with my own eyes the spherical Earth.
So there.

That is an incredibly soothing sound.
I think it opened up all my Chakras.
I think it’s nap time...

I’ve heard Irving had a very cavalier attitude about modern science...

If the earth is flat, why can't I see the Statue of Liberty from Dallas, even with the most powerful telescope? Did you forget to put a quarter in?

Do you think ridicule somehow proves you're right and I'm wrong?

I’m not quite sure how an online Photoshop tutorial is definitive proof of a flat earth.

Im not quite sure how an online Photoshop tutorial is definitive proof of a flat earth.Did I say it was proof of a flat earth?
It is evidence, however, that the 'picture' in question was processed and isn't an actual picture.
Do you still believe it's an actual picture?

Did you forget to put a quarter in? Forget? Hell, I didn't even realize you had to pay to use those park viewers. You've solved the mystery!

Do you think ridicule somehow proves you're right and I'm wrong? No, two thousand year old mathematics and simple observations prove you're wrong.
We're not even trying to be "right".

Still can't explain those videos showing things you shouldn't be able to see so you throw out that to support your position?
