Maybe it’s because the whole boycott thing is tainted in my mind due to previous leftist boycotts, but I’d tend to think it would be better to just cancel the Nordstrom card and leave them to figure out what was going on while you shop elsewhere. Seems like virtue signaling I guess?
If you cancel and don’t tell them why, they just assume you can no longer afford to shop that tier of store and that none of their competition will be getting your business either. They don’t really care much about that.
“I am boycotting you and making a lot of bad PR about it” often makes them pay attention, as leftists have shown.
However, “I am boycotting you, making a lot of bad PR for you about the boycott *and* demonstrably taking my money to your competition and generating good PR for them out of it,” tends to (or at least it should) be far, far more effective at getting their attention.
