10 of the Worst Sci-Fi TV Shows of All Time
The Cheat Sheet ^ | January 20, 2017 | Robert Yaniz Jr

In the past decade or so, science fiction on television has seen a dramatic uptick in both quantity and quality. Shows like Westworld are keeping critics engaged and audiences coming back for more week after week, but while a number of sci-fi shows over the years have developed significant cult followings, others have become notorious examples of just how bad the genre can be when it isn’t executed effectively. Here’s our look at some of the worst sci-fi shows to ever hit the small-screen. For the record, we’re focusing specifically on live-action series only. So any infamous animated shows won’t be appearing below.

Okay, no knock on Ms. Menzies but, c'mon, that was Jenny Aguther in the film!

I saw it in the drive-in, and they cut out the nudity (which is fine by me). Jenny has a bit of that British horsey-face thing going on, and I am partial to blondes and more hair rather than less. Kinda funny that she and Michael York were just outside of Washington DC in the movie.

Lol I remember and loved Quark. It was a comedy and wasn't shy about it. Plus they had a few hot girls in skimpy outfits

I have difficulty enjoying Star Trek as I used to, because I look at exactly those types of things and see them differently now.

Sometimes ignorance IS bliss.

Hard to pick only one, but you can bet Irwin Allen produced it. Land of the Giants, Time Tunnel, Lost in Space, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea.

Wow, what a blast from the past. I'd forgotten about all of these but Lost in Space.

One more modern show I was a major fan of was Stargate Atlantis. One of the best sci-fi casts ever, IMHO. Was sorry to see that one come to an end. I never cared much for the original Stargate series, but Atlantis was great.

MeTV runs all those shows in the early PM in case you didn’t know.
I record them so I can avoid all those old folks commercials.
I’m 53 and I was a little kid when they were on.
It’s memory lane! Corny memory lane!

Yes...that show was horrible.

Except for the colonel lady in the spandex!

There are parts of Logan's Run that are quite memorable...

Yes, but Jenny Agutter's "parts" were only in the movies, not the TV series.

Yes Star Trek TOS went into a tailspin in its last season.

"Enterprise's" last season was a real stinker. It actually showed some promise early on.

AFAIAC, Lost in Space ranks as worst of the worst.

The first 2 episodes were actually pretty good, and "Dr. Smith" as a serious villain. It went downhill rather quickly after that.

On the “bad SF” front, she (Jenny Agutter) was in “Amazon Women on the Moon” in 1987.

Really? AWotM is one of my favorite ever John Landis movies. The credits? "Staring... A lot of stars." It was partly a take-off on late night TV, including a cheesy 50s Sci-Fi movie.

Again, one of my favorites by John Landis.

Where does Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea

Irwin Allen Sci-Fi generally stunk, especially "The Time Travelers." (was the the IA show about time travelers?)

To each their own. I mean, I wouldn't kick her out of bed. (My wife would do that...)

Oh, and I remember Farrah hair quite well. Sad to see that go.

Star Blazers had a stirring theme song.

Land of the Giants—Earth spaceship lands of planet of 72 ft tall people, like the second part of Gulliver, after going through a space warp.Remarkably everyone speaks English, cars and phones etc much like on Earth..
