Highway 35 in Los Gatos is shut down, a portion of the roadway at Las Cumbres Road is gone.
Highway 35 has been completely washed away near mile marker 10.47 in Santa Cruz County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The ground gave-way Friday.
The CHP sent this tweet out Friday afternoon:
Do you have the right thread?
Virtually ALL the roads in the SCruz mountains are like that.
A 5 year old could have built them.
THAT's why every thing falls apart in ordinary rain storms: the juveniles who run things in Santa Clara and Santa Cruz county refuse to upgrade infrastructure to ordinary standards.
Thus Global Screeching whenever an entirely predictable event like a big rain storm occurs.
Now all the money they gave to the Illegals and the deadbeats (er, "homeless") is gone, and they will be begging Don Trump for free cash.
And he of course should tell them to drop dead.
Check with Newton first.
God is punishing California. If you don’t leave then you too will receive the wrath laid down on Sodom and Gomorrah.
That’s crazy talk.
Well I guess everyone has to take the long way to Alice’s.
Holy cow.
Wimps. Just put a little asphalt in for a ramp and jump the gap. I’ve seen it done on Dukes of Hazard a million times.
Sorry. No federal funding is available for help for you Calexit. Time to practise being on your own.
A bunch of leftists living there anyway, so a few less available to riot at Berkeley when Milo shows up again.
(apologies in advance if there’s one or two conservatives stuck there too)
“ALL who designed this road had degrees from Mexico University of San Francisco a fully accredited school by > Sacramento !!”
They actually build some damn good highways in California (and they should stick to just that). My guess here is that you can anchor the road down all you want, but if the hill/mountain it’s on goes bye-bye, then the road goes with it.
Also keep in mind that many of these roads have to be rebuilt after slides like this - a nice gravel base, and several feet of packing is all good and fine, unless people are suffering while waiting for the road to be completed.
Just needs a little cold patch.
Don’t want to put fed $ into the dirty hands of Moonbeam.
He has a habit of shifting highway funds to his pet
projects.
I was just bad-mouthing KALIFORNICATE.....
Shout it from the mountains brother. Maybe we can get all the leftist screw worms to leave CA. My apologizes to those in other states who have to absorb all these leftist mental cases.
It shouldn’t get any Fed money. It is a state route. At least with trump it won’t
EZ PZ
Much of the soil in the Santa Cruz Mountain Range is sandy loam. Good for growing grapes, Redwood trees and poison oak.
You forgot stinging nettles and ferns...
LOL
