The photo of a pit bull and his owner has been shared more than 46,000 times
A dog pictured hugging his owner has melted the hearts of people on social media.
Jamie Holt posted the photos on Facebook on Feb. 6 and since then the post has been shared more than 46,000 times.
In the pictures, a pit bull named Russ is seen hugging Holts niece.
Holt, who volunteers at an animal shelter, says Russ was recently adopted by her niece in Philadelphia.
The owner said she instantly fell in love with the pup and had to bring him home.
Holt hopes these photos will inspire others to adopt rescue dogs.
Train a dog to kill, and he/she will kill.
But the Pit Bull in this thread is contributing way more to society than Trayvon Martin or Michael Brown.
My American bulldog loves to cuddle and is the sweetest dog I’ve ever had. More so than a labrador I had.
There are some bad pit bulls out there so I can see why so many are afraid, but look at the guy holding the leash.
Adorable!!
You can tell that guy is very grateful to have found a good home.
American pitbull terriers are abused by more ****heads and wind up in dog pounds more than any other breed.
Wow. FR is full of people who don’t believe anything the media says while believing everything the media says. Make up your minds zombies.
I’m currently in Colombia S.A.....many cities here have odered the breed muzzled due to so many attacks. Walking dogs is a big weekend pastime here.
I figured I would get in trouble for that!
Now I’m wondering - was Dirty Harry’s .44 magnum the most powerful handgun (at that time)?
46,000 hits is not “going viral.”
Oooh, he looks just like my beautiful pit Pinky who just passed away Sunday.
A Dobermann has more bite force than a Pibble.
So does a GSD.
LOL!!!!
Pit Bulls can’t be trusted. I learned the hard way when I asked one of my Pits to watch my sandwich. He got the sandwich and most of the beer. It was horrible. Still gives me nightmares.
You talking about the dog or the human?
That’s the ‘pitbulls’ I know.
Sad for your loss. Mine will be coming soon.
I’m going to try to give him one more good spring/summer/fall
then do what’s right and let him go.
Thanks. She’s been gone a week now and it is still painful. May you and your beloved pet enjoy your final season together. They are wonderful creatures who bring such blessing.
Pure love.
“Train a dog to kill, and he/she will kill.”
I agree. And the same is true of children! Stupid, greedy humans have tarnished this breed of dog. Pit bulls were once the mascot of the U.S. Marines and the dog featured in RCA’s ad (you know the one with the dog looking at the gramephone). Those are hardly images of viscious, dangerous dogs.
