You realize “Repent” means to change one’s mind in the original text and to “sin no more” is foolishly impossible, strive as we may.
Why did Jesus tell people to “go and sin no more” if sinlessness is impossible?

Ya got me there.
He also said to love our enemies. That would mean that the plethora of Muslim haters would have to LOVE those same Muslims. I THINK that would be an impossibility for them.

Jesus DID speak in hyperbole. But, that was the style.

I am Catholic and I do go to the Sacrament of Reconciliation. It is MOST moving to confess one's sins to another person...not just the non-Catholic way of saying "Sorry, Lord" and know that one is forgiven, even if one commits the same sin 50 times a day.
Also there is no Penance for non-Catholics. Catholics have to say penances...prayers, commensurate to the sins. Telling one's sins and saying penance prayers IS quite different that just the "Sorry Lord" ten times a day. There are NO penance prayers for those sins. It's a WHOLE lot easier to be a non-Catholic.

No fasting, no abstinence, no required twice/year Confession or Holy Communion, no mandatory Sunday/holy day Masses...nothing. Any sin? Just say "Sorry" and it's done and done. EASY PEASY.

What better love than spreading the Word of Truth and Salvation to those enemies and Muslim hordes?

I’m former RC FWIW.

Christ talks about being born again - I’m sure you know it. Salvation is easy peasy - if we stick to what John, Peter, & Paul wrote about it - or Jesus Himself.

Romans 10:9-10 is wonderful.
John 6:29 is the answer where Jesus had every opportunity to be a legalist some sects make Him to be, and yet His answer is most simple.
I love Acts 16:31 and it’s a repeat of John 6:29 to the Roman jailer.
Then Ephesians 2:8 shows God’s true meaning of Grace.
Heck the whole book of Ephesians should give Christians a superiority complex regarding blessed assurance.

What Jesus simplified, men (all of us) love to confuse and confound it with “rules” or “obligations”.

Counter the legalists with 1 John 1:8-9. Or better yet, read the whole book of 1 John and soak in all of that wonderful confidence that we should have in Christ’s Finished work.

PS: God Bless You!
