Being somewhat of a science geek, that sounds like a show I would enjoy, but I have to turn it off after 30 seconds because of that stupid laugh track.

Actually, the show is filmed in front of a live audience. So those laughs are real (although there is some speculation that there is some fiddling with the sound track in post-production).

In any case, it really is a very funny, brilliantly written show. Arguably the best sit com ever, but certainly within the top five (IMHO). And for the most part (again, IMHO) it stand up well to multiple rerun viewings.

You're depriving yourself of some really great entertainment if you decide never to watch it.

There’s been times when Big Bang Theory was on the TV in another room. All I hear is “Hahahaha.” “Hahahaha.” “Hahahaha.” The exact same laugh, every couple of seconds. They must override the natural audience reactions and put in that phony laugh at the end of every line. It’s extremely annoying.
