Re: Perry Mason - my dad was a prosecutor. We always watched Perry Mason when I was a child and it confused me, because PM was the good guy and the prosecutor always had egg on his face at the end. I asked my mom one time if my dad lost all his cases.

William Talman (who portrayed D.A. Burger) said that Burger would have considered his losses to PM as "wins", because in the end he would not have wanted to convict the wrong people.

Only in a government job could Berger stay on despite blowing high profile and costly cases on a routine basis.

At least Berger wasn’t a power mad nut with axes to grind.
