“Haven’t listened to el Rushbo himself since he told me Rubio, the little gang-of-eight traitor, was a “full throated conservative.” I quit listening to people after they lie to me.”

It was surreal. Rush went to the wall, several times, to stop the Republicans from getting Amnesty through (and with it, a death sentence to the Republican Party). Rush explained what it would do to our side better than anyone else - it was real simple: Sign up 30 Million new Democrats and we never win a national election again, we would have as much power as the Republican Party of California now has. Had any of those attempts had been signed into law, Trump would have been a footnote of history, not even able to win Texas.

...and the last big push, and it came DAMN CLOSE was 2013/2014, led by none other than MARCUS RUBIO. And Rush has the NERVE to refer to Rubio as a ‘Conservative’ - Rush understands the term ‘Conservative’ as well as anyone. Yes, Rubio gives a great speech...but he very, very, nearly sentenced our movement TO DEATH.

I have no clue what was in Rush’s head...but he got behind Trump the moment Trump sealed up the nomination...and has been doing great in my book. I wish some day he would tell us what the hell was going through his mind back then.

By the way, if you want to see just how close the Rubio got to sentencing our movement TO DEATH, just watch this Frontline. It is frightening how close, and how secretive, they were operating.

I couldn't understand how Rush could say such a thing either. I thought about it for quite a while and the only thing I could come up with was that Trump was gaining momentum fast at that time but he hadn't yet sealed the deal and the GOPe was desperately looking for an acceptable candidate (you know, one of them) to get everybody rallying behind quickly and it was Marco's turn to be pushed out on the stage to see if his balloon could take off. If Rush had told the truth about Marco right then his balloon would have crashed straight to the floor and the GOPe would have been pretty much out of guys to use against Trump.

I think Rush was just given the message to let Marco have his chance and Rush complied. He didn't have to say Marco was a "full throated conservative," he could have just said nothing - but he's always enjoyed his contacts and relationships with the big boys in the Repub party and I think this time he let that influence his decision. And he chose poorly. Rush lost a lot of listeners over that one sentence. And rightly so, since it was a lie.

Wasn't that the battle that the GOPe lost when David Brat primaried Eric Cantor (House Whip) by beating him mercilessly over the head with Cantor's support for the immigration deal? Knocked a lot of House Rep's back in line if I remember correctly. And then Trump's win in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania by razor thin margins. It's amazing how close we came to losing this country. We need to keep little Marco's treachery front and center any time they try to give him a cleanse and bring him back out as one of our good guys. Which I bet Rush would be happy to participate in.
