FULL TITLE: Most protesters arrested on Inauguration Day will face felony rioting charges, federal prosecutors say
WASHINGTON -- Most of the approximately 230 protesters arrested on Inauguration Day will be charged with felony rioting, federal prosecutors said.
The U.S. Attorneys Office said the offense is punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. The office said most of those arrested will be released without having to post bail and must return to court in February.
A first group of 10 men appeared in Superior Court just before 3 p.m., and their lawyer entered a not guilty plea on their behalf. A judge released all of them on the condition they not get re-arrested in the District of Columbia.

I don’t know, but anarchist and Communist punks had better understand there’s A NEW SHERIFF IN TOWN!!!! (And they’re going to blow their entire trust fund on legal bills!;)
Nail ‘em to the wall. Give them something to remember.
Hopefully they do prosecute them. Law, and order in this country has been trivialized by the left. It’s time to take a stand.
There were some reports over on the Facebook page I think.
As felons, they won’t be able to vote against President Trump in 2020.
LOL
GITMO has several vacant cages, I understand.
The rioters didn’t really think this through.
Fanfreakintastic news on an otherwise krappy personal day. I hope they prosecute the f**^&^&^&^( out of these people. We all have a right to peaceably assemble, but we do not have a right to riot and destroy private property.
Hit em with conspiracy too.
Happy, Happy, Happy...
Heeeeheeeeheeeee.... true that.... :D
We are going to need another Kent State style episode for them to understand that we mean business.
You have to feel sorry for these fools who are being sent to their deaths by the 1960’s communist agitators turned college professors.
I imagine that those arrested were photographed, fingerprinted and DNA swabbed, so those traveling under false ID will be outed.
Facing a 10-year sentence, I know I'd be mighty tempted to abscond...
This is exactly the sort of response that’s needed if you expect to keep these antics at bay.
On my computer, “freerepublic” was nothing but a blank white screen for 2 days. So of course I have not been posting.
The “protesters” at the Inauguration were in reality not “protesters”, but domestic terrorists!!!! Those who formed gangs to block security checkpoints were depriving American citizens of the RIGHT to see their new President inaugurated. This is especially true given the expense and the effort needed to secure accommodations and to travel to DC.
Those who stole and destroyed property (e.g., Trump hats, cameras, autos, store windows, etc.) or set fires were also depriving American citizens of their rights, as well as threatening life and health.
Both classes of terrorists should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law! And the law enforcement authorities must go after the ringleaders, and put them out of business permanently!!!!
On the positive side, I was FINALLY able to pray for the President of the United States in Divine Liturgy (at my OCA parish) this morning!!!! And I hope that in due course my Serbian Priest will also be able to do so—he stopped praying for the President after the NATO bombing in 1999.
Good riddance!!!!
