Mine runs thinly disguised Globalist, IMF and NGO Propaganda and Disinformation.
After the last 8 years of my country being turned into a socialist hellhole, it is so hard to take all this win. This is AMAZING. If this is a dream, and there really isn’t a President who is going to take office in less than 24 hours who wants to privatize “public” broadcasting, defund the “arts”, and indeed reduce the scope of Federal government by 20%, please, PLEASE DON’T WAKE ME!
More than likely means they start selling ad time.
Garrison Keilor may have to sell one of his multi-million dollar mansions?
How would the left feel if Rush Limbaugh ran a radio network like NPR that was in every media market in the United States and ALL it did was push conservaitve ideas - ON THE DIMES OF ALL AMERICANS - LIBERAL AND CONSERVATIVE?
LIBERALS WOULD BE SCREAMING LIKE STUCK PIGS.We're been forced to do that for decades.
“...Trump wants to kill Art...”
LOL! I understand your comment but if I ever hear some liberal jerk off make such a comment, I will respond as follows:
Really?! Wich one and why? There must be several million guys named “Art”. What could anybody named Art have said or done for Trump to put “hit” on him? Besides, isn’t that a violation of the Constitution? Oh, you meant art as in paintings, sculpture and music? Like piss in a bottle? Yeah, well FU. That ain’t art, bitch.
YES!
I would love to see legislation that frees up the lock on TV “bundles” that cable sells. I want to design my own channel set and not pay for 100+ channels of garbage I will never watch. That will force competition into the TV industry and kill off the crap no one wants to fund.
I second that.
Is anyone tired of WINNING!!! Yet??
Maybe WGBH can host Howie Carr...
Yay!!!! Finally someone has the guts to dare the sh-tstorm that’s going to come from slaughtering the Left’s sacred cows.
The screams and woe will be epic.
Great idea!..Let the people pay for what they want and let them ALL sink or swim on their own merit....free enterprise works if u let it...
Ok. Let's suppose Trump zeros out the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the National Endowment for the Humanities. (Curious: there's no mention of the National Science Foundation, which should go as well if we're cutting this sort of thing.) At $741 million a year, let's do some lazy man's math and call it $7.5 billion over ten years. The current services baseline is probably a little higher to account for inflation, but let that go. Trump is shooting for $10.5 trillion in cuts over ten years. After axing these three targets, he is now $10.492.5 trillion short of his goal.
Still gotta go to entitlements, folks. Go ahead and kill the endowments and CPB. They are pencil dust agencies. To get to $10.5 trillion, or anywhere close to it, Trump will have to make cuts that will hurt. Republican Members of Congress have voted for serious cuts at various times since 1994, and they've gotten their heads handed to them. They largely hid for the last eight years because they saw no point in getting crucified politically when the Senate Democrats would filibuster, or Obama veto, anything they advanced. But I think they would charge up the hill again if they actually thought they could get something passed. They need to be able to break a filibuster, and Harry Reid did us the favor of lowering the bar on reconciliation. And they need a president who will sign real reform.
Trump needs more than a wall to make American great again. He needs to lead on hard issues, including the budget. To do that, he's going to have to abandon some of the positions he so carelessly took during the campaign. This is exactly what supporters of the 16 other Republican candidates were trying to tell Trump supporters during the campaign. Well, here we are. It's about to get real.
Seriously, I will believe it when I see it. This kinda of WINNING does not compute....
We should tell them it wasn’t his plan but all the celebrity whining convinced him the wanted nothing to do with his administration so out of respect for their feeling he cut the out of the budget
I went on Trump’s website for suggestions when it first started and drew out the plan for cutting the National Endowment for the Arts. I would be really stoked if they saw it and decided it was a good idea.
Raise your hand if you think NPR gets ten trillion in funding over a decade.
The fact is that non-defense discretionary spending TOTALS about 500 billion a year. That mean to achieve these cuts Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid and Defense will also have to be cut.
I don’t mind. But it’s not going to pass congress, and Trump himself said Defense spending should rise and entitlements must not be cut.
My local station whittled Sam’s Garage to nothing over the past few years.
Every hour became a cookie cutter financial or elder care program that sounded like the one before it.
Click & Clack were funny and I got a little from them.
