Michael Obama can take his stuff with him and just get out.
I really don’t have a problem with a White House veggie garden, or schools having gardens where the kids can learn to grow food - or at least where a friggin’ CARROT comes from! I’d LOVE it if there were less lawns and more productive, useful gardens.
I was LUCKY that my Grandmas that were gardeners; one grew awesome veggies, the other beautiful flowers; Food for the Soul!
I’ve always planned that in my Retirement Years (which started last year!) I wanted to do something to help others grow food, or learn to bake bread, or even the basic tasks of everyday life that no one seems to be able to handle, anymore.
Granted, I’m no Food Nazi like Mooch...so I’ve got that going for me. ;)
yup cause thats where the hope is according to jamie.
Great idea ! :-)
Hey got to walk the dog somewhere...
Polk salad Annie ...
"So I said to Barak,'Fool, you're supposed to stuff the front of your pants, not the back!"
SPOT ON !
Bring in the pigs and let them eat the garden.
I'm not joking. The Clintons had sewer sludge spread on the White House lawn back in the '90s. I guess this must have been an ecologically trendy fertilizer at the time. But the sludge turned out to have a high level of toxic contaminants. Michelle's vegetables are for show only.
Hideous.
Simply hideous.
One jug of Pramitol and that whole scene is done, NOW.
Pave it over for a tennis court
Dear Jamie, do you want to come by and tend the garden?

Obamas vegetable garden Lavender planted in the White House vegetable garden
The Obamas planted a vegetable garden on the South Lawn of the White House on March 20, 2009.[8] This L-shaped 1,100-square-foot (100 m2) garden is located by the mansions tennis courts and can be seen from E street.[6]
The plot provides more than 55 varieties of vegetables along with fruits that are incorporated into meals made for the Obama family as well as invited guests.
Another portion of the yields are donated to the local soup kitchen and the Food Bank Organization.[9]
There are 55 varieties of vegetables grown, including: arugula (rocket), cilantro (coriander), tomatillo, hot peppers, spinach, chard, collards, black kale, berries and lettuce.[10]
In addition to the seeds selected to be planted are twenty five heirloom seeds and ten different herbs such as anise hyssop and Thai basil.[10]
Former presidents' favorite produce will also be sown such as President Thomas Jeffersons preferred vegetables Brown Dutch and Tennis Ball lettuce, Prickly Seed spinach and Savoy cabbage[11] but beets will not be grown as the current President does not like them.[10]
Along with the vegetable garden a beehive was added near the chefs kitchen that is overseen by Charlie Brandts, a beekeeper and White House carpenter.[12] Honey collected from the beehives has been used to brew White House Honey Ale.[13]
The contributing gardeners responsible for the early stages of the garden include the First Lady herself, White House Horticulturist Dale Haney, Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack, a team of chefs, and fifth graders from Bancroft Elementary School in Washington.[1][11]
These twenty-three fifth grader advocates, who have grown a garden at their school, helped with digging up the soil, planting, harvesting, and cooking the crops produced.
Project facilitator Michelle Obama has made the vegetable garden a priority by requiring hands on assistance from all the family members.[1]
In May 2012, the First Lady published American Grown: The Story of the White House Kitchen Garden and Gardens Across America, a book detailing her experiences with the Kitchen Garden and promoting healthy eating.[14]
Get a D8 and run the demn thing over.
Bill also sprinkled out there sporadically.
I’d bulldoze it and plop a oil well on the spot!
Lol
