What many don’t realize is a “silenced” weapon also requires sub-sonic ammo to be “silent”. Most Americans out there who would purchase suppressors if they become legal will still run conventional ammo and not sub-sonic down those bores.

Exactly. Low velocity ammunition causes all sorts of other issues. The recoil ampening springs on the slides or magazine blocks have to be weaker. The gun often runs dirtier.
Also a suppressor collects heat and can melt down quickly.
The accuracy and range are effected by the sub sonic loads.
Supressors are a specialty application item, period. Yet anyone can learn about how to use rhem.
I do not feel that they are for the casual shooter who may not know the various issues involved. Knowledge needs to be transferred along with a suppressor.
