WTH?
Were they denigrating SBA? The satire totally works as a way of saying that the modern American women had allowed their easy prosperity to lull them into becoming vapid, vacuous, disrespectful nit-wits... but I can’t imagine SNL did that deliberately. Alternatively, they could be saying that SBA has nothing to say to modern Americans, but I can’t believe their usual pretenses about being intellectuals would allow them to make such an anti-intellectual statement.
That seems like the main thrust of the parody, that suffragettes like Susan B. Anthony had worked hard to give women a voice only for these women to fill their minds with useless nonsense. Also, the modern women obviously had no concept of the fact Susan B Anthony knew that abortion was oppressive to women as well as killing children. I agree that it is shocking that SNL put this on.
