Urine test reveals what you really eat
BBC ^ | James Gallagher

The results of your body processing fruit, vegetables, fish and different types of meat leave a distinct signature in the urine.

Clues to the state of the body's metabolism and gut health can also be detected by investigating the chemicals in it.

The test was developed by a collaboration between Imperial College London, Newcastle University and Aberystwyth University.

Dr Isabel Garcia-Perez, one of the researchers at Imperial, said: "This will eventually provide a tool for personalised dietary monitoring to help maintain a healthy lifestyle.

"We're not at the stage yet where the test can tell us a person ate 15 chips yesterday and two sausages, but it's on the way."

In trials, around 60% of people either under or over report what they are eating.

Prof Gary Frost, another scientist at Imperial, said this could be the first independent test of what people munch on at home.

Try having to come off the Synthyroid for 2 weeks for a test. PAIN deluxe. Never use a GP or Internist for an Endocrine issue. They can’t read the lab reports well.

I no longer use thyroid medication. The 6th doctor told me I needed more iron and D3 and after taking it I had the missing energy back plus I stopped drinking coca cola and eating tv dinners and fast food and started cooking my own food and avoiding MSG and high fructose syrup. I now can feel any msg in food soon after eating it. I avoid eating bread at restaurants, even salads at McDonalds when I found out they sprinkle msg on them.

Subway sandwich must have something in their bread or other ingredients as I feel worn down soon after eating one.

However Jersey Mike’s Subs are great tasting but are $8.50.
You do get it loaded and it is I think 14” long so you can get 3 meals out of it.

Our local hospital lab offers a whole menu of tests you can order yourself. They are at a reduced rate because you can’t use insurance (which requires a physician order) and it is up to you to give them to your doc.
You might want to check and see if the same service is offered locally.

And I’m a NO FIBER eater, Gastropresis real slow digestion, no fiber.

B12 @ 1 gram, 5,000 UI D3, bone vits/mins, Can’t take iron, constipation deluxe, it and GP don’t get along.

I’ve not had a soda in years. I’m a scratch cooker. Very little pre-made crap. Not had a Sub in over a year. Breads are limited. No sweets either.
