Not to mention that they had no problem cheering heartily for McCain (!) and Romney (!) during their campain=gns, despite their many deviations from conservative principle. Their rejection of Trump makes no sense in that context. They write disparagingly of “Trumpism”, but did not have similar contempt for Bushism, McCainism, or Romneyism (they never used such terms).

Bush, McCain and Romney were all on board the Cheap Labor Express.
That is what the National Review gets paid to push.
No borders. No enforcement. Amnesty is the only answer.
Trump broke the stranglehold that the Cheap Labor Express had on the GOP.
Every nominee since the last amnesty has been an amnesty candidate.
They got Trumped this time and that ticked them off.
They had been effectively preventing the citizens from keeping the rule of law and their country and Trump gives us the opportunity to retain them.
That’s why they went full retard.
