(vanity) Unintentionally Hilarious Back Cover of a Dime-Store Romance Novel

The fact that this book's ad was meant to be serious is what I thought was funny!

How many themes can you pack into one paperback? Vikings, ISIS terrorists, vampires, dude ranches, romance, angels, world class chefs, transporters, cults, ..... did I miss many?

"Dine [sic] store? At eight bucks a book?"

Yup, some things increase over the years; others don't.

Inflation only affects the price of a paperback, not its value!

Sure hope the Main Character “Cnut” isn’t dyslexic.

Could be troublesome.

I am having difficulty discerning the parodies from the real covers.

Why don't you writers come up with a back-of-book-blurb that tops the one that's the basis for this post?

Or maybe one that ties together as many FR memes as possible? Ie Viking Kitties and Zots and Vanities and ButtHurts and Stuned people and the like?

Well. Looks like somebody’s editor was fed up with romance novels, and decided to give it’s readers an entire buffet, all in one mouthful. If he didn’t get fired, he’s probably still laughing at this absurdity. Wait...do romance novels even have editors? While we’re laughing at people, a woman once bragged to me, that she read at least two books a day. It was very difficult for me to keep a straight face, when she told me they were Harlequin Romances. (Reminds me of the episode on Andy Griffith, in which Goober Pyle had arranged to meet his female pen pal, who had become interested in him because he read “three or four books a day”, by which he, of course, meant comic books).

Because we authors are lazy and get mentally burned out trying to come up with blurbs for our own epic literary masterpieces.
