Will Smith lasted a pretty long time in an abandoned NYC in that one movie where he could only be out during daylight hours.

Hmmmm, quite a bit more science in that model than in ANY of the “climate research” models.

Is there any known disease that has a 90% infection rate from proximity and casual contact, and is 100% effective in killing the patient? Don’t think so.

I think their 90% guess is far too high. Sure there are some segments of the population that might fall prey at the 90% rate. Other segments would be nearly impossible for a zombie to get to. Overall I’d guess the average rate would be more like 20% to 40%, with that number tailing off significantly as the zombies transitioned to dead and the entire population density went down.

Zombie apocalypse would wipe out humankind in just 100 days, according to university research

I believe this. I do. Zombies start out with idiot university researchers. Then move on to normal people.

I hope there are no taxpayer dollars involved in this “research” ... But I fear there are.

PLEASE, tell us no taxpayer money was spent on this ridiculous study! Money for study; money for antidotes and vaccines.
Please make it stop!

They need to read the docudrama series that starts with Under a Graveyard Sky by John Ringo.
That’ll school ‘em up.

Did they factor in the number of AR-15's in the general population with a corresponding coefficient of .223 ammo per said AR-15? In my view this could have a significant effect on the zombie survival rate.

The whole scenario is totally dependent on the probability of a potential victim being able to kill the zombie before being bitten. In some places, the zombies would win. In other places, people would be able to shoot the zombies.
It also depends on how hard to kill the zombies are (Will one fall with a shot that would kill a normal human? Will one only fall from a head shot? Is it a supernatural zombie which requires complete dismemberment?)
