A homeowner was stunned when he tried to leave his house on Monday morning only to find his front door had been bricked up. The man was leaving his home in Mainhausen, near Frankfurt, Germany, and found someone had built a wall in front of his entrance. It seems the stealthy bricklayers had managed to erect the wall without attracting any attention and he had to tear it down to leave his property. A police statement said the man must have felt like a Berliner in August 1961, referring to East Germanys unannounced sealing of its border with the Berlin Wall. Police spokesman Ingbert Zacharias told Hessenschau.de late Tuesday that officers dont know whether a prank, a dare or an act of revenge was behind the wall. Cops are searching for the perpetrators and say the motive for the impromptu masonry is unclear but could be a joke, revenge or a bet.

Russian hackers did it
That’s an awful lot of labor, materials and expense to create a sight gag. That takes a unique sense of humor.
Or, it could be some odd mistake. I’ve heard of demolition crews destroying the wrong house before. “Oops! Our bad”.
Yes, they got the instructions for “the wall” from hacking Trump confused with stuff they pulled off HRC’s machine...
This is one of those classic “ultimate pranks” that gets thrown around on lists and websites but seems like you need to be very motivated to actually do.
Plus... who doesn’t have a side door or back door (or windows) to get out, if this actually happens?
Another version I have heard of that is a little less labor intensive is to build a plywood frame over the door, then fill the frame with concrete. Well, less labor intensive for the pranker, but probably worse for the prankee.
It wasn’t me this time I swear.
Did he happen to have a cask of amontillado sitting around?
Did he happen to have a cask of amontillado sitting around?
My boss would just think I made it up as an excuse (as usual).
What, no back door or windows?
There was a window but he had nothing to break it with. It seems all his bricks were mysteriously missing.
Some friends and I once did something similar. Friends were on vacation so we built a wall in their house blocking off the bedrooms.
It was a real wall. Studs, drywall, mud. We even painted it.
Nicely done!
The perp will be whichever neighbor is into Pink Floyd.

“Thats an awful lot of labor, materials and expense to create a sight gag.”
It had to be a bunch of young guys.
Maybe a short term use was found for Merkel’s Syrian refugees. Some are prepared to do seal up the doorways that other German’s won’t seal.
We know it wasn’t an African immigrant.
I blame the Masons.
