What I saw was “Communism ?”. You said it in answer to a question which is why I interpreted it as an answer albeit said in a passive aggressive form of up-speak.
“Russia is the Congo with nukes.”
Exactly.
You know, besides having a dictator, a basket case economy, and the life expectancy of Yemen, Russia is a wonderful place.
>Putin an ex-Communist autocrat who invades his neighbors. He is a dictator who rigs his elections, and imprisons or kills his opponents.
Funny, you’ve just described Hillary. Only she has a much, much worse track record than Putin. Putin’s done good for his nation while Hillary’s entire life work has been to destroy ours.
We are them.
I'm assuming you haven't been there. I've spent a lot of time in Russia and that couldn't be further from the truth. If you're a Russian citizen, you need an internal passport to move around your own country. You need permission from the government to live in Moscow. Other cities are effectively closed. I've seen common people beaten by armed government affiliated gangs in small towns for minor offenses. I don't know what TSA has put you through, but I assure you Russia is still a hell of a lot less free.
What is the male life expectancy in Chicago or Detroit?
“Venezuela is in a free fall.”
When you say, “Hey, Russia is not quite as bad as Venezuela!” you have lost the argument.
OBAMA is a Communist autocrat who invades his neighbors. He is a dictator who rigs his elections, and imprisons or kills his opponents.
He is not useful, but never trust him...
FIFY
Freudian projectionism is the stable diet of lying Neocons.
China has a lower tax rate. So does Cuba.
“We do NOT want to be like them” is the second answer I have seen with the same wording. The poster did not suggest we should be like them so why I are you making that argument? He asked why he should fear Russia and you did not answer the question. However you said you’re aligned with Trump and I believe I can confidently say: TRUMP DOES NOT FEAR RUSSIA. Would you agree?
When you make a straw man argument, you have lost the argument.
If Russia’s tax structure was nearly as attractive as someone like Steve Forbes makes it out to be, you’d have U.S. and European companies opening operations there instead of Latin America, China and the former Warsaw Pact countries of eastern Europe.
plus
low taxation
growing living standards
nil foreign debt
small government
I’m not suggesting that their tax rates are worse than ours. I’m saying that their system of government and the complete lack of constitutional guarantees on basic rights make the prospect of life in Russia less than ideal. I’m an American. I love my country. I hate the government of the last few decades, because they have strayed ( purposefully in my view) from the guarantees Enshrined in the Bill of Rights. However, to hold up Russia of all countries as something that we should inspire to is the height of naïveté. I have great hopes for the future in this country, because I believe the people are finally waking up. Just as I was in the 80s, I continue to look at Russia with a wary eye.
They are racist since they don’t like or respect Obama.
we’ve got sanctions that stop us companies from operating in Russia. That’s one reason McCain doesn’t like Tillerson - Tillerson has advocated for the freedom to do business in russia
“What is the male life expectancy in Chicago or Detroit?”
Far higher than Russia.
Even Mississippi’s Life Expectancy is higher than Russia’s.
Putin praises the USSR.
Good point. I would assume that most European countries don’t have the same sanctions, though.
