Obama, McCain, Lindsee, Wash Post and NY Times all suggest we need to fear and hate - and maybe fight - Putin's Russia
I still haven't seen a good, calmly argued explanation why
If Russia conquered us, would they lower our taxes to Russia's 10 percent flat rate? Would they ensure that orphans get a mom and a dad when they're adopted? Would they end discriminatory laws against traditional judeo-Christian beliefs and practices? Would they stop bureaucrats from persecuting Christian bakers?
The Left might hate Russia for its low taxes and Christian culture, but why must I?

The Saudis and Obama agreed on the oil crash plan to both hurt Russia and to destroy shale oil production. It was in their common interests. Both objects failed the Saudis couldn’t take the bleeding for more than a couple of years. Might have worked if they could kept it up for 5-10 years.
Today’s Democratic Party has better and tighter links to Communism than anything in the current government of the Russian Federation. You want hear Communism praised? Visit the faculty lounge of most American universities. Want to see Communist indoctrination? Sit in on any number of American public school classrooms. Want to see the modern version of Lenin’s leading cadres? Attend a meeting of your local Democrat Party candidates, staff, and supporters.
Liberals have never forgiven the Russians for abandoning Communism.

The part about destroying Shale oil production was in the open. Obama’s part of the plan won’t be found in any MSN publications for the usual reasons of censorship, but it wouldn’t have happened with US government approval. The timing for the KSA push happened right after Russian curb stomped Obama on attacking Syria with NATO jets.

Actually I think you’re right. I’m not completely wrong, certainly Obama has done what he could to discourage production here, but I believe the Saudis were trying to keep prices low to hurt the Bakken. It didn’t work. It hurt, but they’ve learned to produce at much lower prices than before.
I don’t know that Russia played into that calculus, though.

Looks like the job of being a dictator in a third world nation pays quite well.
I’m not completely against Russia but the Russian Bear still has his teeth. It’s still not nearly as free as any Western country you can think of.
