During a performance at Yoshis in Oakland, the late legendary Texas wordsmith Guy Clark asked the question: Is there a synonym for Thesaurus? He added that he never found one, but the word lexicon was about as close as he could find.
The lexicon, the words and phrases used on a daily basis, constantly evolves as words may go in and out of vogue.
There is no decisive governing body determining which words to use or not use, but I sometimes wish there were. Words often need to be dropped, either from over usage, laziness, or because of misrepresentations of their true meaning.
With the above in mind, I humbly submit a list of words that should be banned in the New Year:

That’s not who we are.
Islamophobia. Completely fictional invention of the pro-terrorist group CAIR.
If we just got rid of “nothingburger” forever, I’d be happy.
New words for the lexicon:
Alt-Media
Butt-hurt snowflakes
“Feelers” - emotional idiots
Democrats - tyrants and losers
Was expecting a Guy Clark concert review.....
Today's winner. And besides, a phobia is, by definition, an irrational fear of something. My fears are extremely rational.
Barack Obama
Michelle Obama
illary Clinton
Bill Clinton
“Really.”
“I know. Right?”
I’d be happy to get rid of:
#BLM and most anything with #
Clinton
Obama
Kerry
“Utilize” instead of the simpler “use”.
“at the end of the day”
Any form of “Existential”.
“Reaching out” is overused.
“The Russians hacked the election” has my vote for a phrase to lose.
“President” Obama.
I am so sick of the word “like” being stuck into a sentence where it doesn’t belong! It started out as something said by young teenagers, but they have grown up now and they still use it and so do a lot of others!
I truly wish that people would learn to say what they mean rather than using terms such as the eternal, “I COULD care less” when what they mean is the exact opposite. Much of what I read now leaves me with a headache trying to figure out if the writer even knew what he meant to say. I won’t even mention that most people’s spiling is apauling. Then there are those who say what they won’t do while in the process of doing it;>)
